Official Cornell Early Decision Class of 2018

though probably they will send us an email in 3-5 days and give the instructions to view the decision… agh… this process is killing me. i don’t want to wait anymore.

am nervous…application from kenya…i guess my sat scores will kill my application

What is there to do while waiting for 11 days??? :(

Well now that we’re waiting why don’t we share where else we’re applying in the chance that we don’t get accepted to Cornell? And what’s your second choice?

my status isn’t updated yet… WHYYYYY maybe i’m not accepted

My 2nd choice is uchicago! I’m also applying to UC Berkeley, JHU, NYU, duke (haha), Boston, FSU and UF. I didn’t plan on that many but collegeboard sent me 8 fee waivers I thought why not?
Is anyone else majoring in nutrition or food science? Or env science?

@yalesoon I got 8 fee waivers from collegeboard too. But I don’t know how to use it, cause some schools still ask you to pay the application fee and there is so place at the common app to indicate I have the fee wavier.

Did anyone’s status just change to the old one when it said they will notify us in mid December?

@sunshine it took me forever to figure it out too. I just checked “yes” on the common app to the question that asks if I qualify for a fee waiver, showed them to my counselor and he approved it, and mailed the waivers in. All the schools accepted them!

whoa what

the message saying that we would receive decisions on the 16th is gone!

@yalesoon I received a mail from collegeboard several days earlier and it said we can only use it if we feel the application fee pose a barrier. I don’t understand the whole fee wavier thing at all. Have you ever received any mail like that?

I finally got the update! CALS applicant from NY!!!

@sunshine821 It sounds like you would need your Guidance Counselor to confirm that application fees would pose a financial barrier (for examples see [FAQs for Application Fee Waiver Form](http://www.nacacnet.org/studentinfo/feewaiver/Pages/default.aspx)). If you might qualify, don’t be shy to get your GC to help you!

I think bc it’s on Cornell’s site it doesn’t have to be on our status check anymore

Hey, is anyone applying to HumEc? :)

just checked my portal and the message about decisions coming out on the 16th is still there

Mine goes back to normal. Will anyone apply to ED2 if you don’t get chance in Cornell?

@sunshine no I didn’t receive that but I did read that somewhere. My counselor approved them because the waivers allowed me to apply to more schools that I could afford to, even though technically I don’t meet the income/financial requirements

@yalesoon thank you for your explanation. That makes much more sense to me now.

Does Cornell give out less financial aid to early decision applicants?
