Official Cornell Early Decision Class of 2018

What do you mean that your app status is updated?

Mine still hasn’t updated…

To all those whose havent updated, STOP WORRYING! Its not the decision, its just a message telling you when the decision will be released. The adcoms are separated by regions, there could be a delay for many reasons

@che2018 At Cornell, financial aid is based entirely on need. You should get the same package whether you apply ED or RD. However, if you get in ED you are supposed go. So unless you have good reasons why your family can’t pay the expected family contribution (EFC) you can’t just say, no thanks, I got a better aid package from Some Other U.

In RD you could do that. Most schools don’t reduce the EFC however, even if they give you merit aid. They’d reduce your grants and loans and work-study first. I’m sure there’s more good info over in the financial aid threads.

Applied to Human Ec!

@pomplamousse I applied to Human Ecology too! haha do you think they will choose applicants based on “fit” or test scores?

@che2018 most schools at cornell are about “fit” but I’d say especially humec, hotel, and ilr.

Applied to ILR as a legacy… I have a good SAT score, within their posted range although not quite as high as some of the overachievers on here…Really high GPA with high scores on regents exams too… In-state applicant…Lots of extracurriculars that are all pretty relevant and not just space fillers…common app essay was great in my opinion while the ILR essay could’ve been better, just being honest.

With all that being said I’m not really sure how I’ll fare. I think that the primary legacy that I have (dad graduated in 1995) will help me a lot and everything else I’ve done has been more than adequate. Not gonna over stress, although I feel that Cornell is my only chance to go Ivy. We’ll see what happens on the 16th, good luck to everybody and don’t hesitate to leave comments to me since I’m new to this site and interested in everyone’s opinions on my chances

10 days guys… I can’t even focus on schoolwork or other applications.

@che2018 test scores, of course! But you’d know that since you applied to CHE and know everything about it. (Lol nice joke. We all know it’s about fit)

Btw, I applied to CHE too! At least with a college like CHE, if you don’t get in, you know that you wouldn’t have fit in there anyway (at least according to the adcoms…), so it would hurt less…kind of…

@che2018 @Bubbles888 FIT FOR SURE!
I applied to PAM! Which majors did you guys apply to?

@che2018 @Bubbles888 Did you guys send subject test scores?

Also… I’ve gotten 2 emails from Cornell in the past 3 weeks that said “introducing the ILR school”… it seemed like a generic informational email about the ILR school that included the RD deadline, requirements, and it started off with “as a student with the same academic interests as you…”
I’m worried because I didn’t even apply to the ILR school and I’m getting these emails… PAM and ILR are similar so that might be why?? I hope I didn’t get rejected/ deferred.

@pomplamousse my intended major is Human Biology, Health and Society.

wow nice. well, I haven’t got any email from Cornell…sooo i don’t know what’s up.

@pomplamousse

hey i also applied to HumEc! for Human Development.
I did send subject tests scores for Math IIC and Bio.

@pomplamousse and yeah, i sent sat subject scores. how about you?

Cant focus on midterms :(

Muhammad, Haters, same 'ere.

On the wire about the ED results. Hope we all get in.

@Muhammad - where are you from?

I think we can guess the number of posts when the admission result comes up in 16th. I deem it might be more than 1500!!

^Lol, yea. Safe to say this thread is boutta pick up.

@hotellie, pakistan bro
