Anyone has anticipated major Engineering Physics? Just curious…

Hello!
Aspiring Cornell CoE Engineering Physicist here!

Anyone applying to CALS biological sciences and know how competitive it is?

I did, CALS biomedical engineering. Def don’t think it’s the most difficult of the schools. I do believe it’s the largest school though. Good Luck!

Another CALS biological sciences hopeful checking in here! I think CAS is the largest and CALS is the second largest in terms of students enrolled.

Does anyone know the % of acceptances for biological science applicants?

Coriander–in terms of # of entering freshmen, for the class that began this fall, A&S is the largest at 1095, then Eng @ 763, Ag @ 678, Hum Ec, ILR/Hotel, and then AAP.

I’m so scared guys, does anyone know the Hotel School ED acceptance rate?

@HopefulHotelie02 it’s around 30% to 40% for Hotel ED

Applied to CAS but not expecting much

@che2018 - Thankss where did you find this out fromm?

Anyone else applying for CompSci?

@jerry yep! I do 1600 and 3200 :)

Anyone else have a countdown app going? 7 days 10 hours 52 minutes guys :p

@yalesoon - hahaha I have one, its scary knowing how it’ll eventually tick down to zero and the decision will actually be posted then :p

Me! Applying to CoE for it… but planning to double major in ORE too though.

@yalesoon, someone actually posted a countdown clock on this thread. Ive been constantly looking at that. Adds suspense, no?

apllying compsci from Kenya

@LyraPoly Yes, XD I’m a bit frustrated that only AAP requires both of the tasks, but I do understand because that’s their ideal process of selecting committed architecture students.

My interviews took about a hour and a half; talked with y’know an architect about my portfolio and backgrounds…but from my hindsight I seem to done pretty just normal…which I’m worried about. I hope my portfolios will cover up that mediocre interview. (And in my region over 15 students had already taken their interviews WOW how competitive will this year be then? XD…obviously I saw most of them are Chinese)

AAP picks 150~170 students out of 1000 students. And from my conjecture they pick about half of the students in ED. Architecture department within AAP has capacity of 60~70 students I believe and 40 students or less will get selected I dunno…
Sadly as an international student geez only 30 int’l students got accepted in 2011. So I have low hopes But remember diverse students come to AAP no matter their SAT scores are high or low and their portfolios are all drawings or paintings. So we are not sure who’s going to get in or get rejected.

Oh and for the university part. Yes I do hope I could apply to other Ivy Leagues and top schools, but there are many obstacles since they don’t offer architecture. I’m not necessarily putting most of my effort in architectural schools. For sake of more opportunities within a big university, I applied to some other majors in universities that don’t have architectural program…

Good luck on your admission! :))

Comp Sci at CoE and CAS from India.
