Official Cornell Early Decision Class of 2018

Not to throw another wrinkle to this exciting event…Ithaca is going to hit with a winter storm this weekend. The school has only closed once in the last few years, but lets hope this won’t be the second time. Maybe knowing about the snow, adcoms are going to get everything done by end of Fri.

I remember when my kid went through this 2 years ago. She was away on a school trip. I had to ask her teacher if she could be excused to go up to her hotel room to get her result. I cleared my calendar from 5-6pm just in case if she got bad new and I had to pick up the pieces. She called me at 5:02 with the good news.

Good luck to all of you.

Just watched Admissions by Tine Fey - boy, am I even more depressed and nervous! Good luck and best wishes to everyone! Y’all will less one less day to wait compared to me, since I’m living in Asia, so yes, best of luck!

:)

@violabug3 Eisner was an inspiration for me too (I worked for one of his grad students when I was an undergrad). It is true that he posted his undergrad rejection letter from Cornell on his office wall. Are you interested in a particular topic or particular group of insects?

@oldfort - That sounds so amazing, I wish I can give my parents some good news too :)

but 'f they were planning to release it today because of the storm, they would already sent an email right

@Brouhahah yea I agree and in my opinion, if the date were moved it would most likely get pushed back not moved up, but that’s just my opinion

@crowlady,
That’s amazing! I’m interested in Springtails (Collembola) and my idol is Edward O. Wilson!

Violabug3 and crowlady you guys are one of the reasons that I want to go to Cornell. Seriously where else can I hear people discussing about that diverse and inspiring interests?

@debrules i second your opinion as well

I doubt they’ll push the decision date bac, and if they do we riot, simple as that :)

They wouldn’t push up the date at this point. They may try to get as much done as possible before the weekend.

I really hope that they don’t push back the notification date, I’m already counting down the hours… 75 hours 39 minutes 45 seconds!

My buddy’s Stanford decision comes out in a few hours. He’s totally in control and chilling.
And I’m freaking out for both of us! :x

I don’t think the nor’easter will be bad enough to shut their systems down. I live a couple hours away and we’re only getting about 10 in.

@dracolis that movie literally displays the adcoms like a-holes (altough some may be real). Lets hope that real ones are better

@violabug @brouhaha Speaking of springtails and E O Wilson, see [Springtails - Collembola - Overview - Encyclopedia of Life/url. Here’s a Cornell-related EOL person (other than me): <a href=“John Sullivan: 2010 EOL Rubenstein Fellow - YouTube”>John Sullivan: 2010 EOL Rubenstein Fellow - YouTube](springtails - Encyclopedia of Life)

Just trying to distract from the waiting game ;-)

does anyone know if you can be accepted as a “guaranteed/conditional transfer” under ED?

My applicant ID has stopped working on the self service portal, just as promised.

So close…and yet so far.

@Heisenbot it is still working for me … How about other?? does it work?

Harvard results are ouuuuuuut!!!
