Official Cornell Early Decision Class of 2018

I did alternate human ecology with CALS as my primary. They both have my major but I just like CALS more haha

There is no cutoff.

extremely scared. about 48 hours left

Guys, we’re going to find out in two days anyway so there’s not really any point in worrying!

Slipshod, a 1550 isn’t too low by any means and even if it were, would you be able to do anything about it now? Relax!

^ couldn’t agree more!

(2875 minutes left btw :stuck_out_tongue: )

does anyone know if GPA/SAT requirement for HumEc is a bit lower than Cornell’s other schools?

it’s the weekend guys. relaxxxxxx why don’t you focus and study for your finals :)

yes i am , but does that even matter.

^ I think CALS, ILR, and HME are the most fit based so they might have lower objective scores

Does it help to be from NY if you are applying to CALS?

@collegestress14 last time i checked. HumEc 75th percentile ACT was a 33. convert 33 to SAT… 2200s to 2300s

but still, it’s more fit-based

To everyone worried about their SAT scores: I have a friend who got into Architecture (most selective school in the University, I think, only a 6% acceptance rate) with around 1800 on his SAT (maybe a bit more? I can’t remember, but certainly less than 2000), OK grades (mostly As, some Bs), and from the northeast. However, he had an incredible portfolio and was a perfect fit for the Arch program (there aren’t many B Arch programs in the USA and each one has its own uniquities). He’s also incredibly passionate about architecture. I think that fit matters a lot especially in more specific majors. Maybe SATs/grades matter more if you’re just applying to general Arts and Sciences, but there is so much to an application beyond that. If you are passionate and hard-working, that will show through in your application in spite of your statistics.

Just the fact that you’re on this message board means that you probably are very focused and love the school. So chillax, y’all. Besides, it’s out of our hands now anyway.

how are you guys planning on opening the email??

haha I think I’m going to cover the whole screen then look at the first letter and see if it starts with C—ongratulations

I live in Ithaca and now I just wanna run uphill and ask for my admission decision…

YOU LIVE IN ITHACA?! Can I be you?

@themoonchild that’s an excellent but terrifying idea haha

So all decisions have definitely been made already right? Also how is Cornell with financial aid. I hear a lot of mixed answers regarding this.

@themoonchild What if they change the messages this year and you don’t see congratulations? :P

Does anyone know if Cornell offers guaranteed transfers to ED applicants as well?

What’s a guaranteed transfer if you don’t mind me asking?

It means you’re rejected for the first year but you are guaranteed a spot at cornell as a tranfer for your second year if you meet the grade and course requirements of whatever college you attend your freshman year
