Official Cornell Fall 2015 Guaranteed Transfers (Class of 2018)

It’s not a guaranteed transfer. but Crennel has a high transfer rate, and if you are unhappy wherever you attend you can always try to transfer to back to Cornell. But if I were you, I’d forget about Cornell for now and embrace the college you’re attending.

I got a GT offer for next year! Don’t know if I should take it yet, but I’ve accepted the offer anyways.

To anyone still following this thread that may be new to it: Message me if you want to be added to the Facebook group! - I think I added most of you who have messaged me (or im currently working on it)

Hi- would anyone be able to add me to the Facebook group? Thanks!

Hi guys!

Just wanted to add a quick update for future folks with guaranteed transfers: If you are a GT who is interested in changing your major before you arrive on campus, you should contact your college and send them an email stating that you’d like to change majors with an attached essay explaining why. It is a surprisingly straightforward process and well worth the effort!

I was able to change my majors this way and I feel really relieved, since now I can take classes that actually go towards my major requirements (I was originally planning on switching once I officially matriculated, but as one can imagine that would’ve been really stressful had they said no).

So there you go—hope this helped, and feel free to PM me if you have any questions!

Has anybody received any emails with the official transfer forms yet? I have this offer to ILR and I haven’t heard from Cornell at all and I was thinking that it is getting pretty late in the year.

Hello GTs! I am wondering if any of you would be willing to say what your SAT scores were. The reason I ask is that my daughter was deferred from ED this fall (HS class of 2015), and I am thinking that they will end up giving her the GT in the end (although I hope she gets an acceptance during the RD round!). I am thinking that one of the reasons may be that Cornell doesn’t have to include the SAT/ACT scores in the statistics for the enrolled freshman class – so it’s a way of offering spots to qualified applicants with slightly lower standardized test scores.

Anyone willing to to give their stats? It would be interesting to see if there is a pattern.

How do you get a GT? I was wondering how I can get into the Hotel School. I’m currently a High School Senior and I was deferred ED.

Hi everyone! Nice to see this old thread regaining some traction, haha.

@student3005 - I think an ILR student mentioned that they received the official forms today, so check your email to see if you’ve gotten anything. We have until mid-March to submit everything, so there’s still plenty of time.

@brantly - I think your reasoning makes sense. I had a 2320 SAT and 3.88 GPA, but unfortunately my senior year grades weren’t very good, so that may have factored into my decision. Judging by the admissions patterns on here, I think that students who were deferred ED have very good chances at receiving a guaranteed transfer if they applied to a contract college or SHA!

@DiiViNe - You may get offered one in lieu of the traditional accept/reject/waitlist decision in March and don’t have to do anything for now unless you decide to send a letter of continued interest. Good luck, and hang in there!

Hey guys! I started to work on my application, and had a question on the midterm report and the transfer option college report: am I supposed to be asking my instructors for spring semester to write grades? And do we have to submit transcripts? I don’t see an upload thing on the application site.

You need to send your official transcript showing fall grades.
In March you need to get a form signed by profs for spring estimated grades.

Hello! I would like to get added onto the facebook group. Also, when will we be getting our official acceptances? I turned all my information in on time and meet all the requirements…just anxious to see the paper saying it’s real!

May I also be added to the facebook group? I got a “transfer option” for CALS.
