So what are the chances for those waitlisted and what are some strategies?

So what are the chances for those waitlisted and what are some strategies?

Congratulations to those who were accepted!

So what are the chances for those waitlisted and what are some strategies?

Wait listed.

What are the chances once wait listed? Are they decent or minimal?

So what are the chances for those waitlisted and what are some strategies?

Yeah! Got in!

Yalesoon, it means they will send you a conditional transfer option. Basically you go somewhere else your freshman year and take a specific list of classes making the grades required and you get in the next year. My D got this offer last year and we are waiting to hear the decision on her transfer option for fall 14.

Rejected. Not surprised though. Oh well… :)

Did the site go down? I wasn’t able to access it for a little while. But anyways, congratulations to everyone who received the good news!! And @yalesoon, you did get a GT-- I think a considerable number of us ED deferrees get them! Are you planning on taking it?

Wow. It’s been such a rollercoaster of emotions these past few months. I’m still a little bit in disbelief. Guys, we made it! :)

Accepted
Cornell University Class of 2018!!

My daughter got accepted to Cornell. Rejected from Yale/Harvard/Princeton. Waitlisted at UPenn.

Rejected.

Rejected…their loss. I know I’m going to kill it wherever I go, it will just be somewhere other than Cornell. I actually got into Brown, which I prefer over Cornell.

I think I may have gotten the Guaranteed transfer?

“Within the next few days you will receive notification from the undergraduate college to which you’ve applied that you are being offered a transfer option. Please contact the college directly if you have any questions.”

Although it seems odd that they wouldn’t just tell me more about it now. I’ve waited long enough and their entire system is computerized, they couldn’t have provided a link or some kind of info just to let me know something for sure?

I’ll probably accept it if I did get it, but the fact that they do this in the first place kind of pisses me off. Assuming they do this every year, that means they have the capacity for the full accepted freshman class + GTs from the prior year, so the only reason they would do this is to maintain their number rankings. Meanwhile they shaft both the applicant and whatever school they go to with the full intention of transferring away from it.

@bulldogs3 is everyone who is offered that GUARANTEED admission, provided they meet those requirements? or is there still a decision process between all of the applicants who meet the requirements?

@Coriander23 I am not sure! Cornell is still my dreams school but I don’t know if I want to settle in somewhere else just to leave. I think I’ll accept it and then see how my first year wherever goes. Congrats though!

and @darthelmet I completely agree, I’m pretty frustrated right now. I know they have room, why can’t we just go now :’(

Accepted Arts and sciences!!! So excited!! Congratulations to everyone!!!

Applied ILR and also received a transfer option… I’m guessing guaranteed transfer? I will be curious to hear about the details and requirements, if anyone has any more information feel free to post

Waitlisted.
Not gonna take it though, I’m going to Northwestern!! Congratulations to those who are accpeted!

http://cals.cornell.edu/admissions/upload/Transfer-Option-Summary.pdf</a> I found this online, and it has this years date on it.
It still doesn’t say whether or not it is definitely guaranteed transfer though, aghhh :frowning:
