@zenorchid I guess you are right that most of us here and on the other Ivy League threads are part of the same company. I found it because I am applying to the majority of the ivy league schools and the ones that have released data for class of 2018 (stuff like total applicants, and minority numbers, etc) also have listed an official reply date: March 27th. I found it on multiple press releases as well as on several websites and because I know Ivy Leagues all have to be same data, it is therefore a perfect match for Cornell as well. I believe decisions come out 5pm EST for all the schools that date as well. Either way, I got into Vanderbilt and when the likely event that I get rejections from every other school on my list (they are all reaches), I will be more than happy to attend Vanderbilt on assumed great financial aid.

Just curious, where have the rest of you all gotten into so far?

@matrixsurgeon Ah, okay. I checked Cornell’s Admissions Office site and it was nowhere near as specific so I was curious. I’ve gotten accepted into UT, Texas A&M, and Auburn so far; still waiting to hear back from Rice, WUSTL and obviously Cornell. Depending on UT aid package I’m leaning towards there if I get rejections from the others. shrugs

@zenorchild Hey, fellow architect! We applied to some of the same schools (Rice and WUSTL). I’ve already been accepted to Notre Dame and UVa. March 27th, 5:00PM… scary day.

@zenorchid
I applied to Rice and WUSTL. I really really want to get into Rice because they give good financial aid and the student life there is just perfect. The residential college system is a great experience from what I have heard! Washington University in St. Louis is also another excellent option but also wildly unpredictable in admission decisions (more so than the typical Ivys and elite privates).

I guess I’m in the same boat as the rest of you guys. Apparently I’m yet to submit my 2nd teacher evaluation/recommendation.
Applied to COE-Mechanical Engineering.

I got accepted to GeorgiaTech BME. Denied JHU ED.
Cornell has an amazing engineering program so it’s obviously my top choice! But the financial aid package from Cornell normally isn’t very generous to international students so sigh. Anyway, at this point it would be really REALLY good enough just to get in. Ahhhh I’m so nervous and every time I think about “March 27th 5:00PM EST” there’s this washing machine feeling in my stomach.

@APushed96 If you applied for Engineering, and a number of other fields, UMich - Ann Arbor is a great school. That said Cornell is in a league of its own. If I get into both I would pick Cornell, I applied for CS in CoE.

@matrixsurgeon
I’ve been accepted to UIUC, University of Pittsburgh and Cal Poly SLO all for geology. I don’t think I’m getting into Cornell though since I haven’t solved world hunger or cured cancer.

@GeologyRocks But I’m pretty sure that Cornell does not want the stereotypical student. I’m pretty sure there is something unique about everyone that gives them the Red factor.

@Vesper0723 I got accepted for engineering for UMich Ann Arbor. But, again, it is a fall back school. I’d really love to go to Cornell.

But at the end of the day, I am really, really concerned about the midyear report. There is a certain drop in performance that can be seen: I got 3 B’s…that too, in AP classes!

My son got accepted IS to UF-invited to Honors, OOS to UNC-CH also invited to honors, received LL from UPenn and attended Rice Vision 2014. I was hoping he loved Rice because I know they are very generous on FA, but when he came back he said he liked it but did not loved it. Probably because he already had LL from Penn. We’ll see, still waiting for another 9 at the end of March including 5 ivies, WUSTL, Duke and Rice. Good luck to all
