Well. As far as I know that wasn’t true for EA (at least not Cornell)

Cornell doesn’t use EA. However, you are right in that the ED decision notification date wasn’t known several months in advance like RD. We had received an email (I believe) approximately a week prior to the actual date of notification.

However, Ivy Day, as it has come to be called, is the 27th of March this year.

CALS- Health and Society, but might switch to either biological engineering or environmental…i mean if i get in. hopefully! i have heard that CALS send out letters earlier than other colleges

Yes I received that letter. I was surprised at first that Cornell Human Ecology would send out so many letters that are hand-signed but then I realized that it is probably just a PR move.

Yeah I thought it was a likely letter for a sec, but I was thinking the same thing.

CALS Environmental Science and Sustainability!
I’ve found threads from past years in which SOME people from CALS and ILR started receiving acceptances in early March, like rolling admissions on a very very small scale. Any thoughts on whether or not we can expect that this year?

@jibd123
I believe that SHA and ILR does that for alot of their applicants almost every year. I am not sure about CALS because it is one of the 4 more “typical” sections of Cornell (others being CoE, HumEco, CAS) even though to be honest, everything at Cornell is specialized except for CoE and CAS and even those have very specialized programs! Its what I love about Cornell!

I am predicting that SHA and ILR will start releasing decisions in the coming weeks while all the other sections will wait till Ivy Day or D-Day or Rejection Day, as some call it, March 27th 5pm EST to find out.

Hey all,

I’m a current junior (`15) studying Government in CAS. I’m here to answer any questions about admissions, college life, social life, academics, internships, or any of the other countless opportunities afforded to you with a Cornell education.

I’ve held internships at the United States Senate and I’m headed to Wall Street this summer to work at a top bank. I’m involved on campus and maintain a vibrant social life. And, most importantly, I love Cornell.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi everyone! Am I late to join? Applying to CAS - Performing & Media Arts.

I applied to CS in CoE.

HUMAN ECOLOGY FOLKS - The letter has been very ambiguous. I did some research and everyone that posted on here about it was eventually accepted. It may mean interest? What does everyone think? In addition, I noticed not everyone received the letter previous years.

CALS-AEM

@girlygirl22 Really? Are you sure that not everyone got it. I was surprised that they sent out the mail, but are you sure that everyone who got it last year got accepted? Can you post the link to the page you found it on the thread on here. Did anyone this year not get the letter?

It is just speculation @magnificent6 , but <a href=“Human Ecology Letter = likely? - Cornell University - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cornell-university/1290285-human-ecology-letter-likely.html everyone who said they got it in 2012 on this thread… If you look at their profiles they were accepted. I commented on the 2013 one aswell… JUST SPECULATION. Although, it may be a pattern?

@girlygirl22 I’m not sure that there is actually any correlation. It’s better to get it than not get it though :). If you find any compelling information, please post it on here.
