I’m upset but life goes on. Also, it is time for me to migrate to the cmu forum.

GPA: 3.75 Unweighted? Or a 93/100 Unweighted. Weighted is 96/100
Rank: My school doesn’t rank but probably top 10 or at least 15% in terms of weighted
Other stats: 5 on AP Biology, 5 on AP Psychology, 4 on AP US History, 3 on AP European

Subjective:

* Essays: pretty good- i wrote about a political issue for my common app essay, and about my interest in biology for my supplemental (including a subtle reference to a professor whose class i sat in on when I visited)
Teacher Recs: I got them from the advisor of my school newspaper for which I am an editor (I also had a 100 average in her class), and from my Biology teacher who I did a kickass term project for.
Counselor Rec: She doesn’t know me THAT well, but she told me it was good

Other Factors: I have quite a few leadership positions, volunteer with special needs children, and have improved my grades significantly from sophomore to junior year (94 GPA junior year as compared to a 90 sophomore year)
General Comments: Honestly, I’m quite suprised…but I guess my GPA brought me down. I’m glad I wasn’t flat-out rejected.

Subjective:

Essays: My supplement sucked (I wrote one draft and that was that), but my personal essay was reflective on the passion of volleyball, and how despite my injury the day I was voted captain (oh the irony), I struggled to blah blah blah

Teacher Recs: One from a really close teacher of mine, it was beautiful! The other, I have no idea. But it was written by a teacher who graduated from Cornell and it was the only class I actually struggled and worked my ass off to get an A in (I was in the classroom studying EVERY DAY during lunch time)

Counselor Rec: She wrote one for me before, and said she really enjoyed writing it. But she didn’t let me read it. Oh well.
