for the passage about bach
why is measured optimism and not unalloyed confidence?

for the passage about bach
why is measured optimism and not unalloyed confidence?

and what was the question that had to do with singing/flawed?

Does anyone think that the reading section that talked about the glaciers was the experimental section?

the brother was uncomfortable.
“bemused” means “confused”, not “amused”. you can check it on the dictionary.

:/ i dont get the correlation btwn confused and therefore uncomfortable…

well, it’s definitely not amused.
and the brother told her to go to the Inner Room. He was uncomfortable with the sister being in men’s quarters.

(on a side note, it was thought as vulgar for a woman to be in men’s quarters back then in korea.)

What was the one on the fingerprint passage asking why did the author ask the question in the final paragraph?

was it something like to introduce examples or something?

Also, shouldn’t the organic farmer author not be “frustrated that people don’t understand organic farms” as many of you people are saying?

i said approval… for the organic one

@brofarmer i put “introduce examples” and “frustrated”

can someone explain the rationale for other answer choices in the organic one?

glacier question: what was the best evidence? moraines, or the settlement patterns of native peoples? The passage specifically said that the retreat of the glaciers over N.America affected their settlement patterns…

Wasn’t that author arguing that organic farming is better for the land as it uses fewer resources and pesticides. And the consumers bought it to save the environment, which is similar to the author’s point. Wouldn’t that make him approve of them?

@brofarmer i see your point. i was under the impression that the question asked for consumers who don’t buy organic products and thought the author would be frustrated.

Good list of verbal question here: https://www.■■■■■■■■.com/questions/367?title=November+SAT+1+Test+Questions+and+Answers%2C+■■■■■■■■.com

Yeah, that was approval.

It was definitely approval. I’m frankly surprised that so many people missed that one.

Same with the cold = impersonal one, I saw no rationale whatsoever for ‘deliberate’ yet a lot of people apparently put that.

@blodhgarm777 the last phrase of that question asked us to refer to the last sentence in the passage, which said that scientists looked at natural landscapes to determine stuff.

didn’t the last sentence say “researchers have slowly gathered tenuous evidence” or something along those lines?

the organic problem
didn’t the author talk about how people think organic farms are inefficient, then went on to explain the good stuff about organic farms? so i thought he would be frustrated at those people. i don’t recall the passage specifically referring the consumers buying organic products.

@absoluteness I think the question was asking about how that author would view the consumers discussed in the other passage who bought organic goods to save the planet.

And I put settlement of people for the glacier one because that seemed like a more tenuous thing. Not too sure about that

The customers the question was talking about were those who intentionally purchase organic products, so author 2 would approve of them because he likes organic farming.

author 1 was complaining about those customers because he thought that they were uneducated.

the glacier question about evidence as described in the last sentence is glacier moraine deposits, because the last sentence specifically says naturalistic and geologic evidence, which excludes humans, so it can’t have anything to do with settlements

why couldn’t it be surrounding waters for that one?
