***Official Dec 2014 SAT (US ONLY)***

Excellent job @Woandering . We’re pretty much at the same score right now, except my math is a 760 and my writing is 800.

@mizejonathan17 Thanks and good job to you too! Hope we can keep this up, though.

From personal experience, you guys won’t^^^^ lol jk. (I’m just still bitter af). On a serious note, don’t make the same mistake I dif. You have to be just as, if not more, detailed as you are in practice tests. Also, don’t be thrown by anything that goes differently (like the baffling experimental section). Good luck, guys. I’m out for revenge!

2230 back in october…Time to break 2300 with a superscore this time around.

I’d be so happy If I could get at least a 2000

Consistently getting 800M, 800CR, and 770-780 W now, I’m so glad. Good luck everyone!

Last practice test was a 800 CR, 800 W, 780 M. One question away! Let’s do this

Been lurking around here on the forums for a while and finally decided to join in on this discussion.

Test in a week guys! You guys have any last-minute studying tips? I’ve been mostly honing my essay-writing and doing full practice tests on the weekends. Junior year is just one busy mess.

It’s going to be my first time taking the SAT, and I’m hoping that I’ll be able to be done with it in one try. I really don’t want this hanging over my head for the rest of the year.

@allista The week before the test I would recommend just taking practice sections, rather than practice tests; at this point, if you don’t have your timing/stamina down for the test, it likely won’t come to you in a matter of days. However, you can still work on your essay timing, as it is not as exhausting as an entire test. The same goes with trying out a new testing method/strategy this close before the exam; it’s best to stick with what you’re most comfortable with at this point. The day before, I suggest that you simply read your favourite magazine or book. This will serve as a non-extensive grammar and vocabulary refresher. Also, I understand about the whole Junior year frenzy. Just don’t be dead-set on taking it just once; you can always take the March or May test and see very nice improvement. Good luck!

@anaclara hi I remember you from the oct test. Well since you’re retaking i guess it did’nt go out so well and i would i like to give you some tips i got 1810(math-680,cr520,w61E9) i know the score sucks but i learned a lot from it.In essay just make up examples to suit you’re promt and in math well be prepared and in cr i have nothing to say I just suck in it and i would reccomend you to aim more than your’e last score in math and writing because cr takes a long time to master but writing and math can be mastered easily so focus on that more.

@ind1900 yes, it didnt go that well, to be honest i got what i expected, but it’s still not a good score, 580 M, 530 CR, 570 W and 8 on the essay (i didnt finish my essay) I’m going to try to raise my math score, since cr seems to be impossible to raise it haha.

@anaclara yes try to improve math if you practice you can actually score above 700 and even in writing you can learn all the rules and score but i tried everything for cr and ended up with 520 lol. what’s you’re aim this time and one more thing everybody tell to aim big but thats what screwed me over first time dont aim very big

If any of y’all are from Texas, I might see y’all! This is my first SAT, and I’ve been just reading through the CollegeBoard Blue Book, and I’ve done 2 practice tests. My CR and M have consistently been in the 680-710 range, but my writing is, well, sucking, usually scoring in the 590-620 range. Cannot believe the test is this Saturday! Best of luck to y’all!

I know I can score better in math, I’m good at math, but the problem is not enough time

@CollegeBound9876 I’m in the DFW metroplex area. Good luck to you too fellow Texan!

Feeling pretty good about math. As good as I’ll ever feel, at least :D

we’ll see on saturday… I’m just ready for this to be over.

@Mystic7‌ You got a 800 on CR right? Well can you tell me how you get all the vocab right. Like what do you study?

I didn’t really study vocabulary. I read a lot so I was pretty familiar with most of the vocabulary. When I didn’t understand something, I would try and use the root of the word to figure out what it meant. Learning the Latin and Greek roots of words would definitely be helpful.

Since there’s not much time until the 6th, try looking at practice tests and memorizing the vocabulary. CB tends to reuse the same words over and over. A lot of people use Direct Hits, I think, but I don’t have any experience with that

That feel when the SAT is in two days and you just know it’s going to destroy you and all your hopes and dreams :)

my strategy (which I’ll definitely not follow during the actual test haha)

Write two full pages for the essay. Write in small text with no spelling errors even if my hand is cramping up and I want to die.

NO SKIPPING ANY MATH QUESTIONS

Yeah, so three days until my funeral (for the third time.) How exciting!
