Official December 10th ACT Discussion Thread

what was the answer to the math question where it asked the common differences of something that is directly proportional to something else? It was like a ball bouncing or something like that.

@thesituation it was a 2/3 ratio i think

all of (sth) is —

all of (meep?) is (sth)

leads to all of (meep?) is (sth) and (—)

:)

With the car section, the table was given values with each car being relative to another, therefore negative and positive should have been away and toward, respectively.

^ No, it was 2/3, because the ball bounced less high each time, not more. For the one about wilma rudolph’s coach, would the essay accomplish writing about his influence over her or not? I was torn on that one, but ended up putting that it did accomplish the goal.

Jake- Damn if youre right then thats the only one I only one I missed… I believe.

What other threads r u talking about?I can’t find em

EVERYONE

Something is very strange about all this… I took the test internationally and after looking at everything that you all are writing and talking about - I DON’T RECOGNIZE ANY OF THESE QUESTIONS :open_mouth:

I finished the entire exam and I honestly do not remember any of these questions :/

do international students do a different test in order to prevent possible cheating???

for instance i thought the science wasn’t too hard but the reading was ridiculous… and reading and eng are definitely my strongest sections :/

When are the scores estimated to be out?

^ the 26th, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they were delayed a week due to the holidays. hopefully they hire a ton of jewish/mormon/athiest essay readers!

What did you guys think of the Writing section?

I think I did better than last time when I got a 7. Really, I think your score is pretty much just proportional to how much you write. I said that the government shouldn’t be allowed to tax junk food.

what i did is that i said yes there should be a tax, used two points, and then provided personal experience. then i wrote a paragraph refuting the other side and provided some statistics.

Yes it was awakened.

I thought the science was hard, so the curve should be a bit better.

I dont think the science will have the curve we were all hoping for. However, according to the 2010 science ACT score reports a 35 WAS possible, so thats always good news.

I thought it was easier in some ways to the one i took last June. I was much more awake though and I actually studied for the math part. I still don’t think I did too good.

And sidenote, wcclirl444: Mormon’s celebrate Christmas…
