Official December SAT I Forum

blue mouse you gotta point, its gonna be one of the two

oh well i mightve gotten it wrong, oosp.

"Was the canoe trip passage not experimental? Did you guys have a passage about genetic engineering?"

I had the canoe trip passage and a math experimental, so I'm fairly sure the canoe passage is part of a real section. Nothing on genetic engineering.

ah crap, that means -3 for me

firewalker,

I hope you are right about number 14 because that is what I put.

I also wrote that the comics were an indication of the bad influence it had.

Does anyone know the answer for the question about the pharmaceutical company testing drugs and how it was more rigorous than industry standards?

Thanks.

for the one asking about what the guys hand could be characterized as did you guys put "Deft" = skillful

omnipotent means all knowing so thats definitely not it...
i thought it could be expressive but i'm not sure...

omnipotent = powerful

omniscient = all knowing

answer = omnipotnent

is 9 an impression? why? isn't the passage trying to imply that Lewis kinda cocky guy?

lol it was omnipotent
because the hand symbolically controlled everything on the map

blue_mouse : it could also be "ill-conceived failures" because the passage says something along the lines of "embarassing attempts at making them educational"

omniscient = all knowing

omnipotent = all powerful.

;)

the candy+nixon is experimental, look in the verbal SAT thread

For puerto rico, I said she saw new york as opressive and ?????, because the description in those lines seemed rather harsh. Sharp buildings, gray mass after grass masss, garbage in the streets, chainlinked fences... But if you look at the passsage as a whole it seems she comes to the conclusion that NY is mysterious/uncertain, I didn't know whether to choose based on the cited lines or the whole passage.....

i thought that suspended was like hanging, as in suspended in the air, and that collegeboard WANTS to trick you into thinking that suspended and hanging are by definition the same thing so i put unfinished.

did anyone else think that?

for the pharmaceutical company i think i did the first answer, a word with S

and i somehow remembered that flotsam was wreckage and debris, from like 7th grade vocab haha... like i looked at it and knew that was the answer but couldnt justify it by defining it.. almost changed it too. woohoo

for whoever asked about the experimental verbal section...it may be the nixon one...because it was also on the October SAT.

I put "expressive" for the hand....probably wrong though.

yeah i put oppressive and uniform

lol that NYC rusted cars, fence question seems to be a stumper...lol.

Does anyone know the answer for the question about the pharmaceutical company testing drugs and how it was more rigorous than industry standards?

Stringent

crap u're right... i put deft... crap... i mistook omnipotent to mean omnisicient

Did Lewis like to take part in sports that allowed his "individual something" to shine through?
