failure.

10 was for sure suspended. cus the river stopped suddenly.

12 was for sure degraded.

14 im really unsure.

namkim: WOW!!! I put almost all of the same answers on reading for you. I hope I somehow fluke and get 780+ on reading and writing and hopefully will offset my low math score which will probably 680-720~! I'm mad because math is my best subject!

bhh1988

I had many similar answers as yours. However, i said that Alaska was undeveloped...because Lewis described the valley as wild. I leaned toward undeveloped because Lewis talked about building dams in the few sentences before.

Hanging...I think i said it was suspended or something to that degree.

And, now that I think about it. I believe the answer is foolish imitation. Because the comic book people are trying to make comics into something they are not and they are foolish in trying to do something that will not succeed.

CRAP!!! I should have gone with first-choice answers!!!!!

bhh1988. I suck at CR, but here's what I got from you.

don't remember...

i got fearful or something.

I got dreaming of things that were not realistic or something.

got that.

got that.

got that.

I didnt put immense i put something else. Forgot.

got that.

got that.

i got suspended.

got that.

got that.

got that.

i put ill conceived.

I prolly got some of those wrong though.

i put that one comic book question that i was a "potential example of how harmful it could be"

@gujugeek - if u got same answers as me, then you're screwed. cus i got 690 on my last one. and i think i got 700 on this one.

I think 14 was "ill-conceived failure" because it said "half-hearted attemts" which implies "ill-conceived." It said it was embarrasing but that doesn't really imply that they were "foolish"

bhh: I more or less got the same answers... except:

For Alaska, I put scenic. He said that right now it is wild, later it won't be because of the water flooding. The water wouldn't make it any less immense, so I assumed there must have been lots of nature that made it wild.

For hanging, I put waiting or stopped or whatever could be used to the describe the river. I think the trick was they were trying to make you think of the paper being unfinished, but in the passage it said that as he waited the rivers stopped moving.

I also put foolish imitation. I originally thought ill-conceived failure, as the passage thought that "educational comics" were not well-conceived, but that it was a failure or that perhaps the attempts themselves were ill-conceived weren't really supported in the passage. That they imitated comics and weren't any good, seemed to be supported. I'm still unsure about this one.

And you guys are right about the chicanery one... ugh...

I think 14 was "ill-conceived failure" because it said "half-hearted attemts" which implies "ill-conceived." It said it was embarrasing but that doesn't really imply that they were "foolish"

yep.

actually if 9 was the omnipotent answer... i got that actually not w/e you put.

namkim: No your right about most of your answers that you've posted. Alaska was DEFINITELY Undeveloped. Plus suspended and degraded are defintely correct. Failure is probably correct.

please please you guys, which one was the experimental? i bombed one and did pretty well on the other. one was the one with the venn diagram, and the other was the one with the telephone problem.

1) Put that

2) Nope. I put offensive and another negative word. She certainly didn't like NYC, and I don't think she found it mysterious. She found it regular and ugly.

3) Yup

4) I don't remember. I think there was another word with a very close meaning to unvarying.

5) Yeah. Because oxygen is needed for life to flourish.

6) Yeah

12) Yeah

13) no. A new term

4) Ill concieved failure. They were imitating noone with these books. It's just that they are failures.

well, currently, i know i missed 2 for sure.

the rest i think i did ok on.

i hope i scored over 700!

yea i got omnipotent because in context, when Lewis stopped his hand, the rivers stopped flowing, and all this other "supernatural" imagery was invoked

Ill-conceived failure or foolish imitation?

I put the former then switched to the latter. The author called it embarassing and didn't really say the edu-comics failed, only that they weren't really comics.

Was the canoe trip passage not experimental? Did you guys have a passage about genetic engineering?

guys
the answer was foolish imitations
think about it
the author is talking about the educational comic books that tried to imitate real comic books...
