Official December SAT I Forum

yes. I wrote about Michael Brown too! And I dissed bush ever so subtly in case my essay grader is a Republican. Is it bad that I only filled up half the 2nd page?

I put flotsam too. I just ficgured "flot looks like float", and the other answers suck. I felt weird about putting dry humor siunc ethat seems subjective, but it didn't seem like explicit criticism, and the other answer choices were flat out wrong.

What did you guys put for that one that was referred to the part in the Hispanic passage where the girl was talking about how Cubans and Puerto Ricans are all referred to as Hipanics?

At first I thought it was a loss of identity but I convinced myself that it could that it was "inevitable circumstance of living in New York" or something. What did you guys get?

Loss of identity.

Are you sure? Did she really lose her identity though...I mean it was inevitable that she should be called Hispanic in Brooklyn. Ahh....your probably right. I should always go with my gut!

I think at BEST I probably missed 1-2 SC and 2-4 Passage....Hopefully if I just got 3 or 4 errors total I will score around 770.

I need high critical reading and writing scores (I think I did really well on this) to offset the probably 4-5 wrong on math!!!! I usually get 0-1 wrong on math, I hope the curve is nice!

What was the answer to squirrels looking for their nuts? I think I said they needed contextual clues. Dont remeber what the 2nd word was.

Also, are you guys sure about the rectangle inscribed in the circle as being infinite? I put 2, why would they give us points then? Is it just to throw us off on like a #11 (M)?

Is it bad that I only used half the 2nd page on the essay?

I doubt it but a lot of review books say the longer the better, so I just filled mine up to the last line. I ended up with a major hand cramp!!! But 1.5 isn't too far off, so I'm sure you'll be fine!

I think quantity does matter little bit, but if you wrote a great essay, then you should be fine.

I wish i could discuss what I put on the essay, but Im hearing that CBV has a rule about discussing it before the scores are sent

im sorry i just laughed really hard when i read that

I just dont want to regress from the 10 I got last march

Haha, I honestly didnt even notice that. And this from a guy who hasnt missed a sexual pun in a Shakespeare work yet!

oh WOW. i read that too and i started laughing. hahahaha. good one, vyse.

u idiots. For the venn diagram it couldn't have been 10 cuz think about it. First of all there are 7 in Z and Y. If you take the 3 in XYZ that would include some numbers that would be in the intersection of YZ. SO IT HAS TO BE 7

"If you take the 3 in XYZ that would include some numbers that would be in the intersection of YZ."

what does that mean, the question asked what is the value of the INTERSECTION of YZ, so u must also add that 3.
btw, you could just draw the Y and Z circles separately and realize that 7+3 = 10.

in the puerto rican passage with the 2 girls, the question asks what was the initial response of the two girls? i put "cautious" something because the in the text, the girl w/ the jump rope "appraised" the other girl, meaning to measure or judge. i saw that as a cautious approach. what did u guys put and why?

same here, I have a feeling we both got 2200+ though, so it's all good.

can anyone predict how much 2 wrong would be on this specific math test, i guess people are saying it was harder than other ones
