Official December SAT I Forum

I'm trying to figure out what the second passage was ironic about.....

Wait.. I thought the agreement about ironic was another question? Wasn't that the one in the Lewis and Clark one? The second one didn't have an ironic tone...

In the Venus Passage, a question asked for the tone of the first two sentences of the fourth paragraph (the one after the probe one).

The sentence was something like "Why is Venus different from Earth? The answer may lie only in its blah blah blah"? Then CR asks you for the tone. Some of the choices were:

Guarded
Decisive
Unknown
Unknown

I think I put conversational, since the 1st one seemed more academic. Words like "junk" lead me to this conclusion.

The answer was decisive, since he said "the answer may lie ONLY in..."

i put decisive.

i think i put critical. what was the exact question?

tropicalisalnd, the question is:

The sentence was something like "Why is Venus different from Earth? The answer may lie only in its blah blah blah"? Then CR asks you for the tone.

The naswer is decisive, the word "only" is a giveaway.

I just remembered another math: the one that provided a line graph about the monthly sale of cars at a dealership and asked what the degree measure of the arc created by April would be if put into a circle.

Answer: 60 Degrees

One problem provided perpindicular lines at the end of a math section and asked what the y intercept was.

Answer: 5

Ratio of the radii in the short math section:

3:1

Ratio of the sides of the similar triangles:

4/5

SAT I Math:

(3x+y)/y.....x/y ---> 1/15 what was this one? all i rememberd doing was 3x/y + y/y, which is 1. i think i did it wrong, but im not sure. does anyone remember the specific problem, and was it a grid in?

Guys, that's 27 math problems. That's half the math test!
