Official December SAT II Math 2 Thread

um...im not sure, i just remember what it asked and what I got...anyone?

If you cancel the SATII score, can colleges know that you did? Does the grade sheet, transcript, or whatever, say that we cancelled a score?

my friend cancelled her score.. or she didnt even take the test.. and the score sheet says something about it... something weird.

dekans6, for some reason I think I put 50 something as my answer for the paper folding problem. I think I put this because I don't remember the question asking for the answer in feet, so I didn't divide by 12. Are you sure it asked for the answer in feet and not in inches?
Anyone else remember?

yeah, im quite sure it was feet and not inches. it said "round off to the nearest foot"... I got something like 10.24, so I put 10 down. anyone else get that?

im pretty sure it asked for the answer in feet, because I was sort of relieved I caught it in time

I got 4. Maybe that was an answer for another question, but I think i got 4 for one of my answers

i think i confused myself, because the answer 10.24 sounds pretty familiar...

it seems weird that folding a piece of paper 12 times would get you 10 feet of stuff

Does anyone remember the exact wording of the question. I think the original thickness of the paper was .024 or something like that

yeah, but 4 feet is also quite a lot...

The question asked for the positive integers. And you added them. Therefore it is only divisible by three. 2+3+4=9 which is not divisble by 2 nor 4.

The paper folding was 2, as the thickness doubled each time, started at .24 in and i think you doubled it 9 times, then you divide by 12 inches and get 10.24 ft or rounded to 10 ft.

im pretty sure that in the integer one, we multiplied them, 'cause it said "xyz", not "x+Y+z"

10.24 sounds pretty familiar... to me too.

maassrock, are u sure about those? cuz if u are, i love you!

I thought i remeber it saying the sum of consecutive integers xyz, and thats where you are getting your xyz from...?

its xyz not x+y+z. i agree with Dekans6.

it said xyz, where did x+y+z come from?

it wouldve said then sum of consecutive integers x, y, and z.
but for sure it said xyz.

Your sure it didnt say the SUM of consecutive numbers x,y,z?

Im not sure, it doesnt seem like i would have misread sum for product? Maybe though.
