<p>I’m still waiting…omg, this is taking forever! And Spelman’s my first choice! Right now it’s looking like I’m going to Bryn Mawr on practically full-ride, but we’ll see what Spelman does :)</p>

<p>Unique6620- Omg!! Now I’m scared, I REALLY don’t want any loans…we’ll see, congratulations to your daughter though! Where do you live by the way? b/c I live in Boston and I know I won’t be getting anything in the mail for a couple days, but I’m anxious to make my decision. Right now it’s between Bryn Mawr College and Boston University, but I NEED to know Spelman’s decision before anything…especially since it’s my first choice :)</p>

<p>yay! i thought i was the only one who wanted to go to spelman :slight_smile: yes, i’ll be attending SpelBound as well, which i hope is the time where they’ll offer me some MAJOR money like they did a friend of mine last year. other than that, i deff wont be able to afford it, and that’s just heartbreaking! good luck to you superwoman! hope you get in too</p>

<p>Thanks! I hope so too, stinks I wouldnt be able to go to Spelbound b/c they’re taking so long I wouldnt be able to buy a flight in time :frowning: , so I cant go…but I have to visit if i get in w/ good finAid of course :), good luck! & congratulations on getting in!</p>

<p>I feel your pain superwoman its painful waiting on that letter especially since all the time I spend worrying on my mail i could use to worry about more scholarships from fallback schools</p>

<p>boogiebox- yea, that’s how I feel! I’m keeping myself occupied but everyone keeps asking me where I’m going, and I always have to say…“I’m waiting on my #1”, and they look at me like I"m crazy lol…ugh! But right now BMC (Bryn mawr) gave me 43k so looks like I"m going there if Spelman gives me a bunch of loans :(</p>

<p>accepted! Just found out just now, but now I’m waiting on Financial Aid, b/c my parents said they won’t pay NOTHING if I go…They hate Spelman :frowning:
The only way I’d end up going is if they give me full-ride…which I HIGHLY doubt…</p>

<p>nope, still waiting on financial aid but even if i get a good package…my parents wont let ,me go…they took too long to reply to me :(</p>

<p>That is a shame. I have a friend whose parents feel the same about Hampton. She said they were very unprofessional and did not follow up with her at all when she was accepted. She called with questions 2 times, no response. Then her mom called and asked to speak to the head of the dept. and complained. The woman apologized and said she would have someone from her staff to call within 24 hours - then nothing!</p>

<p>They even sent her a bithday card like 2 weeks late! It is so sad, especially since it is a HBCU.</p>

<p>yea, and I expected so much more from Spelman…I just checked my mail, and still nothing! Its okay, that makes my decision easier. Now it’s between BU & BMC (Bryn Mawr)</p>

<p>that is the same way my parents feel unlike my other college who calls quite often to confirm information Spelman took way too long to accept me an they offered nothing but loans soo it doesnt even matter anymore</p>

<p>To the people accepted what does the Spelman acceptance letter look like? Most people said it comes in a big white package.</p>

<p>This was 7 years ago but mine came in a big Spelman blue envelope.</p>

<p>Congrats to all my new Spelman sisters! Class of 2008. I hope that they give y’all some financial aid - I love my alma mater but we’re notorious for making the place unaffordable for people. :(</p>
