in : ) [would rather not post stats, but can PM anyone interested]

online letter thing said that this was the biggest group of applicants in W's history. That's probably true for a lot of schools, but to those who got rejected, it may be a comforting thought? Best of luck!

In! :) Now I just hafta wait for my finaid package.
pooka and silverwavez, don't worry! Better news will come! Plus, college decisions are a crapshoot.

i know that for ED, the acceptance package was one of the large envelopes, and that the deferral and rejection letters were in small ones. it may be the same for RD, but it may not be.

i'm not worrying at all, thanks for the concern though!
got into nyu and BARNARD!

wellesley was not high on my list neway

added on later:
o btw, all of u that got ur decisions are internationals right?
and yeh.. bout this waitlist.. i dont really get it.
if i accept it does that mean I HAVE to go if i get in later?
cus i probably dont want to go.. wanna go to one of my other schools but everyone tells me to just accept the waitlist.. what do i do?

silver_wavez, if you don't want to go, and you're already in to schools you would pick over Wellesley anyway, don't accept the waitlist. They won't make you go, but what's the point? Besides, I bet those waitlisted kids who do consider wellesley their first choice would like the waitlist to be smaller :)

yeh i understand.. that's why i was thinking of not accepting but my friends were like just accept it. and also my parents were like yeh why dont u just do it..
but i dont see ne point cus im already into barnard which is like my #3 choice.. and im hoping i get into my other schools

just wanted to tell all you girls that there is a community on livejournal.com for wellesley called wellesley09. alot of girls that are ED and RD are on there posting if they got in and other things about themselves and wellesley. Check it out.

Silver, you should accept the place on the waitlist only if there's a strong chance that you would actually go. No, it does not require you to go. But in terms of managing the process from here on out, it's fairest to both the institution and those students who really really really really really want to go to Wellesley for the resulting waitlist to be, as much as possible, students are very serious about attending.

Rejected...although I was fully expecting it after the "unlikely" letter I received in February. Oh, well...was accepted to the London School of Economics earlier this week, so things are looking up!

Anyway, I hope things turn out better for those still waiting! Good luck to everyone...wherever you may end up.

I got my official acceptance- and an AMAZING financial aid package.

I'm not positive I'll attend, but I'm so excited to have it as an option.

Good luck to those still waiting and congratulations to those accepted.

For those of you waitlisted or rejected- Try to remember that you'll end up someplace great. After I was rejected ED from Dartmouth I didn't think I could ever be excited about anyplace else, but I was totally wrong. Things will work out.

Nothing came today. I was expecting Wellesley and Oberlin and that was the only thing keeping me sane. Neither came. I can't deal with the aony of waiting. I got about 3 hours' sleep last night and I dreamed 3 times that the W letter came--once I was rejected, once accepted, once waitlisted.

I can't believe I have to wait until after school on Monday.

I got accepted. It came in an big envelope like the ones that Wellesley sent out brochures and applications in. I didn't get a financial aid package yet, apparently my parents didn't fill out all of the forms. Good luck to everyone still waiting!!!!!>
