[] EC short answer (subject and personal opinions on it):
Thought this would be my strongest component.
Special Place: talked about tearing my hamstring in practice and how the ice bath offered a unique and calming place to think while I healed.
Surprise: discussed my 370 (37) point jump on the PSAT in one year to prove to everyone that I could be a National Merit Semifinalist despite their doubt.
Why ND: stressed how ND reflected myself in a school and would be a great fit not only for myself, but also for them.
[] General Essay (subject and personal opinions on it): excellent, about service projects and their impact on my life and how they prompted me to exponentially increase my grades, scores, service, and athletic accomplishments after slacking in my first two years of high school.
[] Teacher Recommendation (only if you saw it): did not see it, from my US History teacher and Model UN moderator who has seen me work through adversity and challanges.
[] Counselor Rec (only if you saw it): did not see it

Reflection
[ul][]Strengths: test scores, balanced activities, consistent growth, essays
[] Weaknesses: early grades, lack of in school activites because of the time commitment football requires.
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected:
Maybe my writing got too technical, even in personal essays.
My math score on the SAT was suspect.
I was the only white applicant at my school, doubt that played a role though.
I was limited in my senior class choices because of a math grade freshman year, despite having a high A in junior year pre calculus (physics and calc honors as opposed to AP)
Its hard to explain why I was rejected and not deferred. They say its so “i am not distracted in my future college planning.”
Good luck to everyone admitted, its a wonderful school.
To all those who were rejected as well, lets hope we find the college that we are meant to be at.[/ul].
