@gdlc123,

I’m just curious, what sort of a job could a person get with a degree in communications? I thought about majoring in that briefly.

I want to go into public relations but unfortunately Northeastern doesn’t have that as a major so I was thinking of concentrating in organizational communications and hopefully get a job at a PR firm or doing press work. I know its a broad major as far as job possibilities: PR, advertising, marketing, basically anything that involves media and press! And its really popular with corporations, organizations, news media, the government, etc.

@baronbvp:
I was just wondering where you heard that we’d find out on thursday. I heard from someone who heard from someone who applied last year and said they heard on December 15th last year, which would be Wednesday. Not sure if thats reliable though. I just want to know when we’ll find out lol.

If you look back at CC threads for EA admissions from both 2008 and 2009 they both came out on the Thursday of this calendar week. Who really knows with the extra number of applications this year, but… hopefully it is it as I’m not sure how much longer either my daughter or I can hold out!!!

I can’t wait any longer I’m so anxious!

I know they say its by top percentages of applicants…but does anyone know roughly the stats of people who get scholarship money?

two more daysSSSS!
do you guys know around what time we get the e-mail (saying the decisions are released)?

@JJB06032, my daughter found out last year on Thursday. It’s been the trend for the last several years.

the time i believe varies by geographical location. I was in TX so i got it around 7pm.

Yeah, I heard they release starting in the afternoon by region/state with Mass being first and spreading out from there. Also, I heard that they shut down the admission status site the morning they release decisions. It will be a hint they are coming out when you can’t log on.

Do we hear about our decisions via internet or mail?

I believe you are sent an email when they have the decision, telling you that their decision is on your NEUID page. You then go to this page, wait 20 minutes to surpass the bandwidth bottleneck(lol), and see your decision.

Guys I haven’t checked anything on NE since I applied back in late october. When can I expect a decision and where should I look for it?

^ …

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if you’re bound to the college you applied to? I applied to AMD and I’m just wondering if I’d be able to switch to, say, Social Sciences & Humanities if I was accepted.

Regardless, good luck everyone!

If I only submit my finances declaration form now (im international) will they defer me? I hope not…

so does any one know wat honor college admissions and/or scholarships criteria are based on? i.e. test scores and gpa, or the whole application, is leadership a factor, etc.

I know that Northeastern is reputed to give NMFs money. At least, I hope so… :)

RADtomato, they take the “top 15%” and consider for honors college, then take the “top 10%” - I think they must have a formula that they follow based on what we heard when we visited the school. They look at scores and grades, but they also look for a certain kind of student who they think will fit well with their honors college. So I took that to mean ECs and recommendations (and probably the essay) are big factors as well.

This sure is a long week.

wilberry228 do you know if you can be selected for the honors college after freshman year or is it only now?
