*Official EA Thread Class of 2016*

So so nervous.

is anyone sure that it is actually tomorrow

I don’t think it is a sure thing, only that the third Thursday of December has been the day for the last couple of years.

Guys I am really scared right now. I didn’t send in my first term grades and I just sent in my CSS Profile even though it was due December 1st. I really hope this does not screw me over or I will be very disappointed.

Is there a way I can contact them and talk to them about this before a decision is made or is it all too late for me?

Well if you didn’t send in your first term grades, I personally would think you are out of luck. They probably already made their decisions, I mean, tomorrow is supposedly just the day they release their decisions to us, not make them and send them. So I would assume you will be deferred or whatever it is called. But it can’t hurt to call Northeastern I suppose.

Also, like someone else said, I don’t think the CSS Profile was mandatory yet, just encouraged to do it by December 1st for a tentative award.

Not everyone has first term grades at this point. I was on a semester system in high school, so my suspicion is that the world will not end without first term grades.
As for the CSS profile, I have gotten the impression (though please do not kill me if I am incorrect) that the December 1 deadline is not the NEU deadline that will determine what you get for financial aid, because I think they wait until they have all the admissions decisions (including RD) before releasing financial aid decisions.

We were supposed to send first term grades…woops.

Four yrs later and I still get excited about the EA decisions of NEU applicants here as a parent
My daughter got the good news back in 2007 and never looked back !
Awesome school that has given her endless opportunities and continues to do so
I wish all you anxious applicants and parents the best of luck :D

Check your online portal, it might say that first quarter grades are missing. Or it might not.

Thanks lje62!

So is there chance we would find out our decision at 12 in the early morning or would it most likely be later tomorrow night?

The decisions started getting sent out at 3PM last year and carried on until 10PM EST depending on how far away you are from the school. Also, I was never asked for 1st quarter grades or anything. I don’t have anything left to said, so obviously I sent everything that was needed. Now it’s just a matter of getting in. GOD I HOPE SO.

I know at my Ds school the grades are sent automatically through Naviance. You should check with your GC, they may have been sent.

my GC told me that you are not required to send first quarter grades, unless the school contacts you asking for them. And at my school, if they ask my hs directly, my GC would send them in without asking me first

Do we get an e-mail first saying that the decisions are on your admissions account?
Also, did we need to do a CSS profile?

My Ds school is on a a semester system and doesn’t have first quarter grades. They do send a ‘progress report’ in late November or so, but it is not official and is also far from accurate. For instance, one of my Ds teachers takes ages and ages to grade papers, and often doesn’t return papers and/or post grades until hours before the final deadline for the semester, much less in November. I can’t imagine NU would want to see an unofficial and inaccurate ‘progress report’, do you? I did check my Ds application status and it does say that to send first quarter or end of term grades ‘as soon as they are available.’ In our case, that won’t be until late January. Does that hurt my Ds EA chances?

ENsMom I’m in the same boat as your d.

Well excuse me when I said you needed your First Term grades in, cause I meant you need some kind of report of grades. My school only sent in a Mid First Term progress report and that is what I should have said. Because, I wouldn’t see Northeastern accepting a student without grades obviously haha. But yea, if the website says you aren’t missing anything then your guidance counselor sent in your transcript whether your term was over or not as long as some grades from senior year were there.

Aka, I’m sure we are all all set. No worries everyone, we will all see the decisions tomorrow. GOOD LUCK! :D

Okay, but I did read NEU requires EA applicants first term grades. The only info they have on my senior year is course rigor. That being said, it doesnt list it under missing items, and my school notifies you if a school asks for grades.

mine were automatically sent in by my guidance counselor and they said they had received my “optional school report”… i think you guys are fine

I think we should just be concerned with being accepted or not.
