Official ED II Thread

@MAMMACOS: Merit aid is noted on the acceptance package you receive. And you’re not accepted into a major, you’re only accepted into a specific program or school. If you applied to the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences—you’ll be a student within that school. You’ll need to take courses and eventually apply for a specific major.

How do I know which college I’ve been accepted into?
I applied to only Columbian, but I cannot see the name in the admissions area- the name of the school I’ve been accepted into. That’s why i’m waiting to pay the enrollment, I want to check with them. Can I transfer to the engineering school before the fall semester?

@aishwarya96: You are accepted into the college that you applied to, and you can not transfer into a different school before the fall semester starts. You would have to do an internal transfer when you actually get there. But it doesn’t mean you cannot take courses within the Engineering School.

Have all ED II notifications been released? My portal still says under review.

@Downzee: They should be, yes. If your portal remains under review, there may be an error. You should call them on Monday.

@GWU2018 so if I applied to SMPA and got an acceptance letter should I assume it is for SMPA? I’m just not finding any specifics

I have the same question as @prettyaverage. My daughter applied to Elliott and her acceptance doesn’t indicate if she was accepted there or what. Someone else posted on another thread that they received a call before ED I decisions came out telling her she probably wouldn’t get into SMPA and asking if she still wanted to be considered for CCAS. I’m assuming since we got no such call that we are in Elliott. I’m hoping that there will be more info on the hard copy acceptance letter! We will actually be in DC next week so we may stroll over an ask!

@mbmama the difference though is that SMPA is a faction of ccas while Elliot is it’s own separate college. I’m not sure if Elliot applicants are also considered for ccas if they don’t meet the standards for Elliot because they didn’t apply to ccas in the first place, which the SMPA kids did

@nyr1996 so does that mean if she applied into Elliott and was accepted, I should assume she was accepted into Elliott?

I honestly don’t know and I don’t want to give you false information but that’s what I would assume. Maybe when the official letter comes it will be clearer?

Hi all!

School of Media and Public Affairs is a program within the Columbian College, and your acceptance letter on the portal indicates if you were accepted into the program. If you applied to SMPA and the portal did not indicate you were admitted into the program, you were admitted into the Columbian College.

With that said… If you applied into Elliot, and were admitted, you were admitted into the Elliot School. There’s no deferral into the Columbian College or anything of the like.

@prettyaverage: You should be notified of you were accepted into the program in the portal acceptance. If there wasn’t anything that specified the SMPA program, you were admitted into the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences.

Has anyone recieved their packages yet? I know, I know, they said 1-2 weeks, but hoping that was being conservative  Anxious to see if she got any merit or financial aid!

has anyone received their EDII packages yet?

Not yet :/

Package showed up today!

Same

Did you guys get your financial aid packages in your acceptance package?

Yes, the financial aid offer was in a folder inside the acceptance packet. There were 2 folders one with the financial aid info and one with registration info, etc.

Yes, financial aid package came with the acceptance letter.
