@hatsuyukidesu: I hadn't received the letter for a month, so I called them up and they did give me the status of my application.

This is the week, folks. Pretty soon we'll all know if we made it in or not.

The latest possible is December 18th (when it should be already posted on the website), but I'm going to be checking my mailbox with eager anticipation every day this week until then.

so is cmu being as secretive as mit and chicago? no set date yet? and how does cmu notify its ED applicants?

By mail, then online three days later.

Anyone have any idea when they come out?

i called cmu today, they have said that decisions will be sent out anytime between dec 15 and as late as jan 15. (even ED II)

wait, so it's possible as an ED II candidate I could hear sometime during december?!

I was reading some of the former EDII post and there were people who got their decision as early as december 20th but they had turned in their application early november. I also asked the Carnegie Mellon aim guy and he told me that ED II decisions will come out by March so... yeah. I'm under the impression though that most students will receive their ED II notifications in mid january

apparently it is possible for an ED II candidate to hear during december, I asked this specific question on the phone. the woman stated that all ED candidates (I or II) will hear between December 15 - January 15. ED II will probably come after ED I obviously, but we won't have to wait until January 15 according to the woman on the phone.

Aw what the heck...

they just finished going through my application today................wonder what their decision is.........CAN'T WAIT

What's it say when they finish?

Between December 15 and January 15!?!?

Dangit, I can't take the suspense any longer! I want a specific date, and December 15th seemed reasonable!

So I guess I can stop checking my mailbox this week, as I won't be getting anything until late January by the looks of their slow processing. (My admissions reciept was postmarked october 31st but I didn't get it until November 23rd.)

This is very unfortunate, because my deadlines for all the other schools are approaching, and I don't want to have to fill out honors and scholarship applications for all these state schools and then end up getting accepted into CMU.

Anyone want to call CMU and ask for the date again? I tried but I keep getting a busy signal.

I'm in as of today!
I received a startlingly small envelope, as compared to the massive one my brother got for RD last year. Also, the "Where am I" page never said that anything was sent out.
School of Computer Science, here I come!
Good luck everyone else.

If you are serious (and I hope you are), then CONGRATS!

I checked my mail today, and I got two envelopes for the wrong apartment...

I am serious, and I'm sorry that you didn't get the mail you were looking for.

D:

Holy ****!

Where do you live? When did they mail it? What date is it postmarked? Tell tell tell.

I heard that the envelope was plaid in color.

So it's a small envelope?

I got into CS today, too.

I live near Pittsburgh, though, so that might explain why it's so early.

I come to these forums quite a bit, but haven't posted until now. I just wanted to let you guys know to give you some hope that yours might come soon, too.

Good luck.

Oh and... yes it is a tiny envelope. It's postmarked the 10th.

EDIT... the 12th... not the 10th.
