Thanks so much! These days i’ve been desperately needing a confidence boost so thanks for helping! my gpa is low but it’s only because i was an idiot freshman year but ive had a huge increase from then to now which they will hopefully take into consideration. Do you have a website with your portfolio I would love to see it! Where are you from? Hopefully I’ll be seeing you in class in the fall!

ALSO… is anybody else kinda relieved that today is sunday. Im so happy i don’t need to stress all day about weather my letter is going to come or not.

But when I went to the infosesh they said people applying to art programs are going to have their test scores and gpa looked at less. I hope they realize I just had a poor freshman year.
Frosh GPA: 2.7 (I SUCK)
SOPH GPA: 3.0
JUNR GPA: 3.4
First Term of Senior Year: A, A-, A-, B+

Obviously my gpa has gotton better but my cumulative GPA is still a 3.1 do they really look at every year? will they take this into consideration?

@marramb10 Only after reading you last post have i started to look at today as a stress less day. honestly, yesterday afternoon, when i didnt recieve a decision in the mail i kept thinking that Sunday would be awful without a mail delivery to search through. But I guess you are right. Today i just focus on other things, and NYU can reclaim its importance in my mind tomorrow.

all the better for you Yeah, one year NYU accepted 23 people from my school, ED. This year at least 5 applied (so far one got in, but he got the phone call because he’s a candidate for NYU Abu Dhabi), which is sort of surprising because of the economy (then again, two students have parents that work at NYU…)

for those accepted/denied, what does the envelope look like? is it a letter envelope or one of those large ones? does it have a lot of stuff in it or not? Applied ED to NYU Stern/Business and Political Economy Program. I’m in Ohio and have not heard yet.

I got a reply by e-mail already, but it was in the e-mail telling me that I was a finalist for the Abu Dhabi thing, so I’m not sure they would send you one now even if you have been accepted, if you aren’t a finalist for NYUAD.

apparently if you are accepted you are supposed to recieve a big package and if you get rejected its just an envelope? i’m not completely positive but thats what i’ve been hearing.

the letter comes in a big white envelope and then inside there is a purple folder that says congratulations and welcome. and then inside the folder, there is your official letter of acceptance and like booklets of information of what to do.
and the mailman delivered it. it was postmarked for the 11th of december and i got it yesterday because i live like 40 min away from nyu.

@marramb10,
It’s funny that you should ask that because I actually lost my thumbdrive that had all my files on it.

Luckily I still have my artist statement but I do have a website that had my art AP stuff from last year?
Some of the pieces (like 9?) from my flickr account were used in the portfolio:
so you can take a look here

I got the same envelope, class 2014! I have a question though… How do you find about about tuition costs and if you received and merit scholarship or anything…

ohhh gotchya. ****. i was really hoping i would get financial info beforehand. i guess that means your admission really has nothing to do with whether or not you applied for financial aid. they’re probably still working on that now.
