***Official Emory ED1 Class of 2018 Results Thread***

Wow, that was unexpected. Feel the adrenaline rush!

hey guys i have a question. on emory’s last blog post it said, “If you applied Early Decision I to both Emory College and Oxford College both of your admission decisions will display.” does this mean that people applied ED1 to both emory and oxford? how does that work?

You have the option of choosing between Oxford and Emory Main if you get into both ED1.

Because Oxford and CAS are part of the same university, Emory allows its students to choose which division they’d prefer to start in. My roommate last year applied EDI to Oxford and CAS, so it’s certainly not unheard of (and I’d suspect, relatively common)

thank you! so if i applied ED to emory and regular to Oxford it will only show my emory decision right?

I believe so, since RD admissions aren’t even close to being closed. Take my thoughts with a handful of salt, since I’m not affiliated with admissions, not do I know of anyone who admitted to doing ED and then RD Oxford.

Also, Soccerforme, there’s a huge contingent of OC kids at Emory if you were wondering.

ya i didn’t even know i applied to oxford RD either until it showed up on opus i had (i didn’t mark oxford on my common app which is why it’s so weird). thanks for the help!

Omg guys Friday?! That’s so close! I’m an ed1 applicant from Ohio! I’m also a track recruit, but im so incredibly nervous!!!

I applied ED to Oxford! From Michigan and excited to see my decision !

Here’s an Email
“Admission decision notifications for Early Decision I applicants will be available online through your OPUS Student center at 6:00 p.m. ET on Friday, December 13. Please note, notifications will not be sent via postal mail or email and cannot be released over the phone; the decision letters are only viewable online through OPUS”

Nervous!!!

i applied ed from florida to both oxford and emory and i literally havent slept in the past week im so nervous

The struggle is real.

I am inquiring about my son, he was sent an email this afternoon from Emory stating about his FA advisor and that he was assigned an admissions liaison. Did most get this email?

I can’t answer that because I didn’t apply for FA.

Emorydad -

I applied Ed and I did not receive such an email, but rather one that just said the notification date. Maybe it was a mistake or maybe it is a slip up and a good omen for Friday?

I as well got an e-mail stating that I was assigned to a Financial Aid adviser. It could be a fluke in the system and they accidentally sent those emails to those who got a accepted, assuming that not everyone got that email. We will find out on Friday!

I received the same email, though I highly doubt it’s any indication of Emory’s admission decision. I assume we’ll have to plod through another two days waiting for that…

Okay thanks maybe it was just a fluke.

I have been searching online everywhere for information about if a D3 coach recommendation has any pull at admissions or not? There just isn’t any recent info on this matter.

geez, is everyone a recruit here? Yes, D3 coaches have pull, but not nearly as much as D1 coaches.

It depends on the coach and sport for the level of pull the coach has
