[ /list][ b]General Comments:[ /b] Good Luck!! Gratz to everyone that are semis!

I dunno. I should probably edit that. I haven't heard anything yet, no letters or info of any type. At first I thought that meant I was rejected, but then Tako talked about getting a rejection e-mail. So now I guess I am just stuck in limbo.

dang it! messed up the formatting :(

Oh, and I figured that college admissions are really screwy. Stanford deferred a kid that got 2400 on the SAT, 800s on 3-4 SAT II, and was pretty involved. So, I guess you never know.

sudoku: at 12:01pm. I'm pretty sure it was automated.

If you don't get it packer, I'm gonna feel bad.

I honestly have slacked off for the past four years and happened to be a bit better than average in math and reading. With all the amazing ECs you guys have, I'm skirting the system somehow. All I've got is decent test scores, an okay gpa (at my school, it doesn't take much work at all to get top 10), and two clubs I went to like 3 meetings of. I'm definitely not unintelligent, but some of these people getting rejected have put in a LOT more work than I have.

If you are rejected though, best of luck elsewhere. I'm sure you'll get in somewhere amazing with your scores.

maybe he was really boring and had a crappy interview

packer just you wait, i can't believe it if you don't get semi.
either your recommendations told horrible things, or your post is full of lies, or there was a glitch in their system.
You are definitely overqualified

H5N1: what interview are you talking about? no interviews at this point at Emory.

Hehe Packer - it probably just means there are so-called "better" things out there waiting for me and you ;)

Although you haven't gotten a rejection email yet, right? So there's still that tiny sliver of hope for you! I hope you get it!

ohioguy: I've been trying to figure this out as well, and plus how scholarships work with need based grants. I think I'll write an email asking, but I'm not sure who to email. Just the normal admit office?

Does everyone get an email or something in OPUS? My daughter looked and there was nothing in OPUS at 1 PM today but no emails, either.

JMW, I would probably e-mail the financial aid office and the emory scholars office ... I think they would know more about it than admissions.

I'm under the assumption that semifinalist = 10-14K Liberal arts scholarship ... plus there is 2K for NMF status ... the emory website, however, doesn't really say anything about it.

As far as financial aid goes, I assume they would get rid of loans first ... but I don't know.

Let me know what you find out.

I was replying to pakcerfan's post on the kid w/ perfect sats getting deferred from stanford (which has interviews)

You know, it's almost bad having a sliver of hope. I've been at work for the past 7 hours, so I couldn't live on the internet clicking refresh which was good. But I was expecting some sort of news when I got back, and that hope got crushed. Kinda irksome.

But, thanks for the support people. Best of luck to you all as well.

i have been watching pirated version of juno for the 3rd time and been refreshing this forums just for fun and pure enjoyment

I want to watch my pirated version of Bourne Ultimatum...but i have to write some essays lol

miss secret, did you just get your notification, or have you had it in OPUS since midnight yesterday?

congrats to the semi's
and jmw, I'm beginning to feel that the people who are posting later just didn't have time to post when they first found out, OR they found out today because they weren't stalking the board.
