^2nd, just do your best and know that your high school grades matter less the longer you’re in college.

After perusing last years thread, i see that everyone (or almost everyone cus i didnt look thru the whole thing) who was able to access housing, got accepted. They also said that when they contacted housing, they said that everyone should be able to log in. So I am not going to get my hopes up, but its getting me excited lol Also, those who dont have access shouldnt be discouraged because this might change for you, as it has for others in the past. Good luck!! No more speculation, all we can do is wait!! Ill for sure let you guys know if I am rejected or not!

@youngjeezy
I agree. But I think that what the housing people are saying MAY be a little bit of B.S.

Any others who agree?

Because, I mean, think about it. The housing people would never be allowed to tell you that you are accepted into the university because you can log into their housing portal which is essentially unrelated to the admissions process. Just getting someone on the phone in any of the admissions offices is a hassle, and they are not quick to confirm or deny anything. I think the housing employees have no choice, that they are told by admissions to lie and say it is a glitch.

@Fortunefinder, I think you have a really solid upward trend and a good chance, but of course that’s based on an opinion of an applicant who has yet to hear back lol. I wouldn’t worry too much about high school though.

@aspx32, that’s wishful thinking and it makes sense but we really don’t know anything for a fact. I’m going to go through last year’s thread later tonight and figure out if there was anyone who could access housing and was then rejected, because i vaguely remember someone on this thread saying that had occured.

I’ll get back to everyone once I investigate lol

Happy holidays to everyone celebrating!!

are the first acceptance notifications going to be via phone or email or postal mail?

^^last year, the first ILR acceptances were phone calls, but apparently that was only for a “select few.” A lady at ILR admissions told me the other day that we should have our letters by the end of this upcoming week

thanks for the info!
i guess ill just be anxious from monday morning to friday afternoon depending on how news comes out.

Okay, now, I think I can tell you for sure that if you can log in housing, you are 100% in. Not only because somebody in admission office told me so, but also if you look at the home page of the housing, it says clearly “ACCEPTED students may apply for housing beginning March 29, 2012 at 5:00pm.” So, congrats!!
BTW, I’m an AEM GT applicant and I can log in and apply for housing.

@Cornell2012Fall…really??which admission officer told you and when?? I dont want to get my hopes up!But,your post made my night because at this point, any glimmer of hope for Cornell is appreciated :)

@ Cornell2012Fall

This is false. A few pages back an accepted student wasn’t unable to login to housing. Not to mention the fact that I called as well and was told everyone is supposed to be able to login.

This is killing me haha…

Also, my midterms were just this week and I’m sending my grade report on Monday like the Cornell advisor suggested… do you think it’ll reach before decisions have been made?

@majoreco First, I’m also 1000% sure that not everyone is able to log in, so what you were told was wrong. Then I believe you mean one accepted student wasn’t able to log in few days ago. But you can ask him/her to try again. Also, what I was told is that if you can log in, you are in, NOT if you are in, you can log in or if you can’t log in, you are not in.

@Cornell2012Fall

The page you are speaking of is accessible to anyone; you don’t even need to log in to see the “ACCEPTED students may apply for housing beginning March 29, 2012 at 5:00pm.” page.

It’s the “click here if you have an app ID but not a NET ID” link that people in this thread are talking about when they say “log into housing”

So after 2 hours of going through last year’s thread(hahaha…dont remind me cos I know I’m stupid), I’ve arrived at the following conclusions:
- If you can log into housing,you are in!
2.If you can’t now,it doesn’t connote outright rejection.There were people who couldn’t log into housing until the eve of the day the got their acceptance notifications
3.If you are never able to log into housing, still keep hope alive because one guy called “SanAdigo” was never able to log in, but still got accepted into CALS(and he was the only one too)
…BUT I love the first part! Everybody who was able to log into housing eventually got in!! Now I can sleep and wait for the decision letter.Whatever the result,we all know we did our best!! Now,lets get back to our notes and take these upcoming finals down!Life will still go on,with or without Cornell!

^I mean he was the only who had that situation…NOT to say he was the only one who got into CALS…just for clarification.

OK, this is gonna be my last post. I made an account just to tell those who can log in housing, you are in. I trust my mom and the information she got. Period.

@Cornell2012Fall
Thanks for telling us. I am able to log in. lol

@Cornell2012Fall
But I am still confused. If that is the case, why cornell do not give the decision letters to us who are able to log in housing since cornell has already let us in?

Looks like last year’s thread would imply that it is good news to log in. However, prior to last year’s thread, it doesn’t look like anyone discovered the housing portal. So we’re basing everything off of last year, which for all we know, does not apply to this year one bit.

However, if Cornell2012Fall got confirmation from an admissions officer, that is reassuring.

Shadglore, I like the end of ur post.
