Official FALL 2012 Cornell Transfers

Congratulations on your acceptance @something!! That is an amazing accomplishment!! Be sure to celebrate !

@Something

Congrats! I bet you’re very happy right now. What part of the country do you live in? I’m on the west coast so I’m thinking it might take the letter longer to reach me than most.

@miami sounds good though~good luck to u!:-)))

Thanks everyone!! I’m in Chicago right now. I’m shocked I got it today, they said they wouldn’t send anything for 2 weeks! I hope to see you all there!!!

@something that’s great news! No rejections yet (knock on wood). I’m loving this!

@19910217 Thank you! Good luck to you as well! Oh and something you might want to know: the admissions officer also told me that I would for sure have my admission before May 1st. Idk if this is the case for everyone, but I thought I should mention it for us CHE folks :)

still no ILR letters

Does anyone know someone who received a formal rejection letter?

Congrats @something! I’ve been rooting for you for quite some time now :)

also, congrats to everyone who have gotten their packages :)

Thanks @anothershot and @chris!! I’m rooting for everyone but particularly you two, seems like we’ve been talking about it for forever. I really hope we can all celebrate in August!!

Still no news… although I am always prepared to be rejected and decide to rent an apartment on current campus for next year when I get the first rejection letter, I absolutely hope that it isn’t from Cornell…BTW, @miami, do you apply for human development in CHE?

Did any applicants for the hotel administration get any decisions yet?? The wait is killing me …

@box90210 I am an accepted ILR applicant, got my letter today in fact! letters for ILR are starting to go out this week… I have personally been told be Ian on the phone(he called me I am a GT)

I am kind of depressed. No letter, no email, can’t log in to housing portal :(

Wait so is CAS releasing decisions already? I thought someone said they were mailing it out on like the 23rd?

For anyone who was already accepted/rejected, what does it say when you log in to check your application status? If it just says that everything is being received and evaluated does that mean we didn’t get in?

@qingmo19 yes I applied human development. You? :)

@MJG678, thanks for the info! and congrats for being in! :slight_smile:

Job/Work Experience: 2 internships. 1 at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management working with financial advisers, and 1 working with a non-profit to help war veterans come to our school and earn college degrees. Also, I started my own business in high school teaching people how to play guitar and piano.

Letters of Recommendation: One from my college president, vice president of student development, a Cornell AEM graduate, and a gleaming recommendation from my economics/management professor. I couldn’t thank them enough!

Other:

Comments: In my common app essay, I talk about how I was placed in a special needs high school my freshmen and sophomore year. I failed everything in middle school, and I was such a terrible student. I then returned to my district high school junior year and had a STRONG upward trend. I really peaked once I got to college! Also, in my Cornell supplement, I mentioned a specific professor I’d like to work with, an adviser I liked, and how CALS would be a good fit for me professionally, and academically. REALLY work on your essays! :slight_smile: I also worked with an AEM graduate bringing his social calender called Planga to my college, and I mentioned that I already have a taste of the Cornell community in me, which lead him to write me a recommendation :slight_smile: So if you know anyone who goes to Cornell, have them write you something! It couldn’t hurt!!!
