Official Fall 2012 Transfer for ILR

I applied last year as a high school senior was given GT for Fall 2012. I had to maintain a 3.3 GPA. They called to confirm that I had been accepted and would be receiving my package in the mail. I don’t think my stats will be helpful for you guys, but:
HS GPA: 3.8
College GPA: 4.0
ECs: WAYYY too many to even list, but lots of leadership (I think you can check my old posts)
ACT: 33
am I forgetting something?

nah, i think that’s everything. damn, thats awesome–again, best of luck–sincerely hope to meet you in the fall, along with everyone else here.

When I spoke to Ian last week he said that letters would be going out in the mail early this week. I also read on the other thread that someone called CU and were told April 9th or something? So hopefully you guys will all know soon!!

@mjg678 that was really nice of you to ask for us. Its really nice to see how we’re really supporting each other even though we don’t know each other.
Oh dear, everytime I check the mail and nothings there, I just want to sleeep and make tomorrow come faster!

I feel you 100%. I just got off the phone with admissions. We should have our letters by the end of next week, guys.

The wait for Cornell’s letter is worse than the wait for letters during senior year of high school! Hopefully there will be dissimilar outcomes this time around.

What about our financial aid? I’m guessing we’re going to call after our acceptance and figure it out? Because I have a lot of materials to submit online when I’ve already sent them.
And notice how I said after “we” get accepted. Lols.

@qawsed, I know how frustrating the unambiguous wait can be… I applied to several other schools, so still am playing the waiting game…

Financial aid takes a little bit longer than acceptances. Typically after you are accepted they forward your application to the financial aid office, which takes 2-3 weeks. Give the office a call after you get your admissions decision [hopefully acceptance!] back.

To anyone who may help me,

I was offered a GT to ILR in the Fall of 2013 (my sophomore year) so I am in the process of choosing a first-year college.

My question is: how am I supposed to take the courses that ILR is requiring me to take when most colleges provide a structured schedule for freshmen.

For example, I was accepted to mostly business schools, so my introductory economics requirement, and most likely freshman english requirement, will surely be fulfilled, but how do I squeeze the Western Intellectual Tradition and Cultural Perspectives requirements into a school focused on business?

THANK YOU !!!

@petric18, first of all congrats!

To answer your question, the most important ones are the econ and english requirements. You should email Ian about your specific situation (he has seen it before) and he will provide you with the proper procedure. Also check out the FAQs in your GT letter, I think it might mention something about that. If you have any other questions pm me! I got GT as a senior too.

congrats petric…i’m sure you can work out a schedule your freshman year that knocks out most of, if not all of, the prerequisites. even business schools are going to have gen-eds that you can take to fulfill requirements. MJ is definitely right though, the best thing to do is e-mail them yourself and find out.

Thanks for all the help you guys I will definately email Ian when I decide which first year school I will be attending.

Thanks again

no problem, good luck!!

Seems like letters should be here within the next week!

I really wish that I receive the mail within tomorrow. It’ll have so much meaning (being that it’s Good Friday) and it’ll be a nice way for me to start my spring break.
Guys, do you know any store in NYC, specifically, that sells Cornell apparel? I want to represent soooo badly and i don’t want to wait for the whole shipping/delivery.

the Cornell store in the city supposedly does sell apparel, but it is more med school stuff.

Thanks! MJG678 your like our personal counselor. Can you post the specific location or website link?

Do any of the GTs know how many transferred applied to ilr for fall 2012? Do they gave you any induction I.e. X number of Applicants

@qawsed I can’t seem to find the link anymore! I’m sorry, I will keep looking for it though… I think there might be some random retailers that sell clothing though…

@MYW31 I don’t know how many ILR applicants ended up applying. They don’t tell us that, but we should know official results this week!

@MJG678, thanks. And hey, did you receive your mail yet? Can you share how big it was and what was inside? If you didn’t receive it yet, can you let us know when you do?

I haven’t received my mail yet… hoping my parents will call me today to tell me I did… However, people on the GT fb page did receive their letters and it was a small envelope. I’ll keep you updated!
