Official FALL 2013 Cornell Transfers Thread

How bad is it going to be that I’m going to have a “C” on my midterm report? Everything else should be A’s, and the C isn’t related to my major at all.

ok my application page changed. But my college transcript still hasnt been checked off!! it says I dont have do anything else much further. Does this mean they have all my stuff?!! I wish everything could just get checked off so I can stop checking! Btw did everyone get the new message on the check application page as well?

@caricature365
I am applying to department of Govt as well
Good Luck.

Please note that transfer admission decisions are communicated by letter on a rolling basis beginning in mid-April. from my application status

VERY anxious now, bros

@Kane402 mine changed too this morning, but i think they haven’t started reviewing the application; they’re just approaching the end of reviewing process. I’m still missing the instructors evaluation which I sent 3 weeks go, hopefully it would check off soon.

I havent sent my mid term yet and havent taken any…is this gunna hurt my chances ?

Has anyone been contacted about an ILR interview? Are they still doing interviews this year?

@Bathtubgin, A “C” will not look good, but there is nothing more you can do about it now, hope for the best! As long as your overall GPA is good I think you’ll be okay, since it is only midterm report.

@Cornellboy, a lot of people send in midterm reports late, just try to get it in asap. I don’t think you’ll be too badly affected.

@Kane, I am not sure what you’re saying. If you still have a checklist with things unchecked, it means they haven’t been processed. Once your application is sent for review, the entire checklist disappears and it explicitly says “your application has been sent to review.”

Hi,

Where can I track my application?

@Bathtubgin

I sent my mid year report on late February and I also had one “C”. I raised it up to “B” this week, so my professor signed a new grade with a positive comment and I sent it electronically to the admission office today. If you raise the grade up, try sending as fast as possible electronically.

They have most of my app material in, but I really need to get my Financial Aid stuff going as well. Is it going to be a problem that I pretty much only have my FAFSA in so far? I’m trying to put the info for everything else in but it’s been difficult pulling all the records up.

Do GT find out the same time as other transfers? Is it really true that transfer are told by snail mail?

they finally checked off everything, but I don’t see the “all materials have been received and been sent for review” message… I only see the message about when we’re going to get notified that jus appeared yesterday. is this what everyone else has?

My transcript has yet to be checked off despite sending it far before the due date. I sent the midterm report about a week ago, and that has been checked off as of today. Have they just not gotten around to processing transcripts for some applicants? Anyone else have a smilar problem?

@jay327, after you submitted your common application, you should have gotten an email for an applicant ID. They give you the link for application status in that email.

@georgethecow, I am still waiting to submit my tax return stuff within the next week. What can ya do right?

@Zachary8, I think CALS informs by Email. Not sure about the rest.

@Kane0402, if all your applicant materials are actually checked off, your application will be sent for review soon! The checklist will then disappear.

@Hopefullybound, I had a similar issue, and it turns out they didn’t have my transcript. Call them to make sure.

before my college transcript was checked off, I called CALS and asked for them to look me up. they said everything was in except the college transcript and that processing within the admissions office was only 2 days behind on mail so CALS suggested I send another college transcript in. But i think either the very next day or 2 days later,to my surprise everything was checked off. And like many of you I sent my college transcript long time ago, one in early feb and late feb.

@SMRSMR Mathematics, CAS here

@Hopeforthebest94, I’ll update the list on the next page.

So around 2 weeks left until we start hearing back hopefully. My anxiousness is growing…hope to hear back as early as possible!

Also on the list it’s interesting how there are about the same CALS and CAS applicants on CC. In the actual applicant pool, there are way more CAS.

Hopefully you and I will hear back early in April cuz our app was complete very early compare to other applicants and the college uses rolling admission. I’m starting to get very nervous. Is there any case that other applicants who’s app was sent as a review late get the decision back earlier than who submitted more early?
