Official fall 2014 transfer thread

@darshmark when did you speak to the lady?

So are all results from here on through going to be released every Tuesday?

@holdenc I talked to her around 3pm today. I also emailed Ian to see what’s up cause I need to know cause may 1st is the deadline for Binghamton and i don’t want to be left with nothing

@darshmark any indication if its typically 2 or 3 weeks or however long from the time its sent for review until decision time? Im sure here some variation but theres got to be a standard of some sort.

Well, rejection isn’t so bad when you are in Hawaii. Congrats to those who got accepted today! For future reference I was a NJ CC junior transfer with a 3.94 college GPA. Top 15% in HS class. Tons of EC’s and even founded a couple clubs specifically for media production. Only one internship and did not submit SAT scores (never took them). It’s been nice reading this forum! I hope everyone who got rejected today doesn’t take it too hard! We’ll find our place.

@beaccepted2014 i asked if the decisions trickle out from now on or if they come out in bulk like they did today, and she leaned to saying they come out in bulk. but idk she was still really vague about it. ill let you know what the admissions director says when he responds to my email, if he responds.

Good to know. Thanks!

Hey guys, I just wanna confirm that so it is okay to put down deposit for one school and then withdraw that offer if accepted to other schools? I will just lost my deposit and it is not count as double depositing? Thanks

@Hihiki‌ you should confirm with the school for a definite answer. Good luck! Btw, what is the deposit for Cornell?

sorry this might sound like a stupid question, but do I ask the school that I am putting down the deposit? Or the school that I am waiting for? and how should I ask them? like… “Can I withdraw later if I got accepted elsewhere?” Thanks.

Applied to AEM, anyone else not hear back yet from AEM? Does this mean I’m wait listed?

Congrats @william95‌!! Hope to see you there!

@Hihiki I think I would personally try asking my Transfer Adviser about the deposit thingy before calling my second choice school. My logic is that, given that we’re supposed to send “thank you” letters to schools that we turn down so as not to offend those schools (and thereby keep our options open for connections, grad school, or in case of unfortunate circumstances), it would make sense that a school might also be offended if you blatantly told them they were your second choice…But that’s just my opinion! :)

@hihiki I would probably ask both schools for complete info on each of their policies. Just be open about your situation. they should respect that you are trying to understand the correct way to go about it. I would probably try to be anonymous with hte 2nd choice school. Ask them if the official policy is on the website too.

Thanks guys! these advise are very helpful :)

Got Rejected. Thank you all! :>

@Challenging :] Wish you the best in your future.

anyone here applying for Cornell hotel administration and has heard back yet?

I’m applying for hotel admin and haven’t heard back yet

How many people have gotten their emails NOT at 10:00am Cornell time? The CALS admissions officer told me they’re released as soon as the decision is available, but it seems everyone is just getting them at 10.
