@bridgewood good luck. I’m applying for mechanical. I know things will work out either way but I still feel like I’m going to have a stroke right now lol

I think Tom Petty says it best… the waiting is the hardest part.

A quick reminder that the # of posts on CC does not correlate with your chances of getting in. Honestly, I am not trying to be a ■■■■■. I got into Columbia last year, and just got into Cornell CAS. I stayed at Northwestern because the social connections were too strong. The only reason I am applying again is because of family health issues. My advice is to stay off of these threads. They make you go crazy. At the end of the day they mean nothing. I am not going to call anyone out, but for example one person that I saw dominated the Cornell thread and acted like they were getting in, only to get rejected. There is no formula to acceptance. I do not mean to sound like a dick, I am just giving my two cents while being brutally honest. Having said that, I hope you guys all do well and end up somewhere where you can be happy.

Good lucks guys!

On the contrary, I’ve found this thread acts as a great support group! I feel much less stressed out knowing that there are others experiencing the same things, and hearing their stories and progress throughout all of this. :)

@bookznhoopz…are you posting this same message on every thread? or just the Ivies?

@Bflsdeab
Well, I discovered that my decision will be available tomorrow either. I can nearly guarantee that I will be rejected once more, because I am applying to engineering school, and he didn’t even ask me for my final grades.

Did anyone get an email from the Financial Aid office saying that financial aid application is incomplete?

yeah i did @NN40801

I did, too.

For those of you who got the email for financial aid, did you get it 1 hour ago

Yep.

When I called the financial aid office in March to discuss the problems I would have in getting everything together, they responded sympathetically, but told me that Cornell likes to deliver admissions decisions and financial aid packages at the same time. They went on to explain that because of this, they wouldn’t give me an admissions decision until I submitted all of the necessary information for financial aid. (I hope I wasn’t misinformed, because it was a b*tch getting all of that stuff together lol…but that’s what they told me at the time.)

So I think at this point it would be advisable to call the financial aid office and let them know of any questions/concerns you have, and determine what you should do from there! :)

Same here. Filling out financial aid is a b*tch. I wish we didn’t have to go through it until we knew our decisions.

so does anyone think this might possibly be good news? or am i being optimistic?

wait i take my last comment back. they probably won’t reject anyone until they get financial aid stuff either. lol.

Thats weird that they said that @CHEhopeful because Cornell is need-blind meaning no matter what the situation is with fin aid they will admit/reject you. I got the email as well

@Ianbernas I thought it was weird, too. At the same time, they never said that the decision was in any way influenced by the financial information provided. They simply told me that Cornell likes to hand out the decisions and packages together. However, I would advise anyone with questions/concerns to pick up the phone and call them. ^.^ I’m just relaying what they told me personally.

I got an email too. I do think its a good sign. Knock on wood but I think the decision has been made to admit us but they just want to present a decision and an aid package at the same time so that everyone has the same opportunity to make a decision based on aid. Make sense?. I knock on wood again and im not superstitious at all! No matter, i feel good today!

If there’s anyone (probably not but it’s worth a shot) who:
- Got bad news
AND - Didn’t finish applying for financial aid (didn’t send IDOC, etc.)

Could you let us know please?

I would add to that… didnt finish applying AND got an email asking for more financial info close to the date of their decision.
