Whats the difference in CS and Comp Engineering? are you in-state for ga tech? @seamon

^CS=software
CE=hardware+software
I am from India

Lol okay! Anyways, thanks. How are your scores?

@seamon what other schools did you apply to/will apply to? not sure if i should just go by uni rankings for cs :)

^I’ll think of Stanford if I get a good score in ACT.

I applied EA, and I realized I didn’t not send my official ACT score report. I sent my SAT, and I put both SAT and ACT on the common app, but I forgot to send the ACT. Is it too late to send it? Is it worth sending? I scored a 1370 on SAT
And a 28 English, 35 Math on the ACT.

You can send it now too. Ga tech accepts scores till 2 weeks prior to application deadline. 1370 SAT CR+M is better than ACT though.

Hi there… Thoughts on my chances getting into College of Engineering would be appreciated.

ACT 31 - math 32 and science 33
GPA - 4.17 Weighted
Played 3 sports all 4 years
Good amount of volunteer work
Essays above average ( i think)
6 AP Classes including Physics
Rec letters from counselor & AP Chem teacher
Attend a private catholic HS in the northeast

What is your unweighted GPA? GT seems to look for a high unweighted GPA.

Unweighted was 3.47

Daughter’s ACT was 35 with 36 math, 35 English, 31 combo writing/English and was sent in for EA application. Any benefit in sending in SAT 1 CR 760,CM 680,CW 730
CR 710, CM 720, CR 730

Heard they super score across all tests???

Unweighted GPA 4.0

^ Impressive scores. She should get in without any issues. Those are Ivy level scores. Good luck!

When do we get our decisions?

Wasn’t it around 8 jan? I saw that in last years thread I believe. Everyone notified the same day.

Last year they released the decision on Jan 6 I think. AFAIK this year the date is jan 10.

Any chance for CS?

^
Sat 2 scores are low for an Indian I guess.
Leadership ECs?
EA/RD?
I’d say Reach.

@seamon
EA
I’ve been a prefect/student council member throughout school if that counts. And my common app essay was pretty good according to a senior and my english teacher.

^Still reach :)

Looking at the threads from last year. Cute to see the kids counting down the hours to the release. Unfortunately those same kids lamenting later what little merit aid they were awarded and then not being able to afford the school…overwhelmingly OOS…but I’m trying not to get too excited knowing this. Big letdown. Or do you think there is more merit money this year?
