How far has everyone gotten?
When'd you get it?
How much did it cost?
How'd you get it? (haha they're so strict now; thanks alot media)

No one plays video games?

I bought my copy in Best Buy on the day it was released for $50. I had also pre-ordered a copy but returned it.
I am almost done with the storyline missions. I don't have much interest in doing all of the extra stuff such as vigilante missions and collecting horseshoes. I can't say GTA is the best game I have played because it is very different from everything else, but definitely better than GTA VC and GTA III.

What makes me laugh is how some people won't play the game because the main character is a black guy. People need to loosen up.

It took you about a week to beat the game basically?

No...I am not done with the game yet. I don't play it a lot since I have lots work to do for school. Whenever I do play I only do about two or three missions. But most of my playing time involves just cruising around and getting into trouble.

better than vice city? i considered vice city one of the of best, if not the best game i've ever played.

its darker, the guys black, and the game is 5x as big as vice icty which means more missions, and side missions, and more cars and the poeple have more dialogue

Perhaps one of the most convenient features of the game is that there is no load time when traveling to the different cities. It's nice being able to fly a plane or chopper across the whole state of San Andreas without having to stop for a loading period.

GTA Vice City is nothing compared to GTA San Andreas.

By load time, do you mean periods where the cd loads?

If so, GTA:SA is really slow; I hate the fact that everytime I enter a room, or start missions, theres always a 10-15 second load for the movie/mission/etc.

This is pretty characteristic of pretty much every PS2 game, but its ridiculious in GTA:SA.

I think that GTA:SA is much better than Vice City. The load time has been noticably reduced. My main issue is that the language has been a tad over-done at times.

Yes, load time is whenever the game stops in order for the next part of the game to load up.

For me the load times for entering rooms and waiting for cutscenes to start is more like 5 or 6 seconds, nowhere near 10 to 15 seconds. I wonder if the age and condition of the hardware makes a difference. I bought a new PS2 unit since my brother took our shared unit to his college.

I might have exaggerated the load time.

Did anyone have any problems with getting it on account of their age?

My boyfriend will nto shut up about this game and he hasn't even bought it yet. I wish it would just go away.

This game was hard at first, it took me a while to get used to not being able to use the directional pad to control the character. But I have warmed to the game now because it is pretty badass, and the music takes me back to my high school days. It is awesome cool to roll up on some moron and blast him away listening to "Nuttin But A g Thang" or "It Was a Good Day." I just finished the Lifes a beach and this game will keep me occupied for the couple of month at least.

Once I used the analog stick for Nintendo 64 I never went back to using the directional pad for anything.

The game is difficult and will require to you replay a few missions. But I am not the kind of person who wants to be challenged by a video game too much. I play to relax and constantly replaying frustrating missions is not relaxing to me. So I go through the missions using codes to restore armor/health and ammo. I don't have the time or the patience to play the game straight without codes.

How in the ass hell do you beat the mission "Reuniting the Families"? Every time I get to the part when that cop hangs on the bumper, my car blows up. Anyone got past this mission?

on the "wrong side of the tracks" mission is there any way you can help Big Smoke shoot the guys on the train

I sped up and slowed down to be adjacent to each gang member on the train. I also would manuever left and right of the railroad track to make sure I didn't hit the oncoming train. I guess the trick is to stay with them and let Big Smoke do the job.
