Accepted from Philly.

Congrats bro I should hear today....

Okay, upstate NY....nothing in today's mail...getting really nervous now!

Was it a big or small envelope? Use to be large was good, small was bad, but it seems this year most colleges sending larger envelopes for admissions after initial short letter.

Okay, I don't know how to explain this envelope, it's not big like some of the schools you've probably gotten already, but it's larger than a normal envelope (it's taller) and it's pretty thick. You should be able to tell, but there is no "CONGRATULATIONS" on the front or anything. THe letter basically says Congratulations and that FinAid will follow "within the next five days".

Thanks for the info, and congratulations to you. It's awful being in CA as all mail takes toooooooo long.

Congrats, bro! Sorry, in my self-absorption I forgot to congratulate you on your acceptance to HC. I'm hopeful I'll hear SOMETHING tomorrow. (Pony Express would be faster.) Best wishes, all.

Accepted today too with a $20,000 a year scholarship. I didn't even know Holy Cross gave merit aid.

Would you mind posting your stats. Congratulations....you should be so proud......

Congratulations everyone

is holy cross anybody's #1 choice?

Collegeman, congrats again. HC is my d's #2 choice. Is it your #1? We are however still waiting in CA.................................

My son is accepted in NYC. Waiting on the financial aid package. Congrats, all!

Unless the package really beats out BC, he'll probably go the BC where his sister goes. My husband and I are in love with HC, though. That's where I would go If I had the chance.

accepted in nj, but i believe im going to bc! congrats to all!!

Still no word in CT...hopefully today...congrats Rachie on the scholie!

Waitlisted, but got in BU and Bucknell...Oh well....

So sorry about your waitlist. Bucknell and BU are both great schools. Would you mind if I asked you your stats? Good luck in your decisions, but I have to add that if HC is your first choice getting off the waitlist is not impossible. My older D got off the waitlist at an elite LAC last year by constant correspondence.

Thanks, oldhat, for the encouragement. HC was my first choice, but I'm beginning to realize that I could be happy at a couple of my other acceptances, as well. I will take the next couple of weeks to re-think all my options and maybe re-visit some of the campuses. I'd still love HC, but I don't want to keep my hopes going only to end up without an offer again. I'll contact the admissions office at HC to keep myself active, but I'll go nuts if I don't try to move on. Just a step towards growing up a bit with disappointments. Learn to deal and move on.

BTW....stats... 1380 SAT's
22 / 250 highly competitive parochial high school
lot of community service
great teacher recs.
Pres/vice pres. of 3 clubs over 4 years

Good luck to all those still waiting...Hope you get in!!!

You have a very healthy perspective on this. You seem very mature and I know that you will do well anywhere you go. My suggestion about staying in touch with admissions should only be considered also if finaid is not a huge factor as I must said the finaid package is not so lucrative for waitlisted students. Your stats are great....I am not having a good feeling here in CA.

Oldhat, where in CA are you. We are in OC. I'm not having a good feeling either. D didn't have a anywhere near a 1380. She also loves Loyola Maryland. We haven't heard from them yet either. Today is her 18th Birthday. I'm so afraid we'll get a rejection letter today.

ocmom...Hang in there and don't give up hope. I think we've all seen on these threads, that it really is a guessing game what they're looking for. Your d may be just what they're looking for! I got into loyola, maryland, too...early acceptance..good luck with that one, too.
May your mailbox be filled with fat envelopes!!!
