@connect1234 That makes me feel much better. This whole college application process is turning my hair white. Another question (Is it just me or is this thread a bit silent?) : Have any of you read this before? I’m rather shocked at the admissions process. Do you think this article legitimate? <a href=“In or Out: Inside College Admissions - TIME”>http://content.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,57724,00.html

BearBear, I didn’t check, but it sounded legit to me!

@BearBear10312 Thanks for the interesting read. You also have to question it’s relevancy because it was written 14 years ago.

@BearBear10312 I think another wave of people will start posting closer to the deadline.

^ True. The only thing I took away from the article was “Colleges want students who want them. That’s one reason why kids who apply for early decision have a leg up.”

@connect1234 This is what I followed to improve my application. A few of them were hard to do, but I think it helped

Being a Meinig Scholar is actually very awesome and a great opportunity, at least far as I have experienced and heard about. First year is purely about meeting the other scholars and starting some pre-networking with others while everyone working together on a “Freshmen Forum” which is a opportunity to improve something at Cornell on a large scale level and present it to upper-level management. And reqs to “stay in” the program are actually not that hard/taxing as some of the Tradition ones and the benefits are amazing too.

Meinig Scholars are notified in the spring for everyone I believe but I’m not sure.

MatrixSurgeon, I read a lot of your posts on last year’s thread. It seems that at that time, you were just as excited and anxious about your application to Cornell. Now that a year has passed and you’ve had a happy ending to that chapter of your life, do you have any tips for us?

@BearBear10312 what state/region are you from?

I’m from New York City. What about you?

I’m from a southern state. We watched a documentary about the Student Council in a highschool called Stuyvesant in NYC. You guys have some cool high schools.

Did any of you guys go to the Human Ecology Informational Session?

I know che doesnt offer interviews but i just read a post on cc about how a human ec applicant was offered an interview. Did any of you guys do an interview or was requested an interview?? Im starting to get rly scared:(
