Jamesjunker said : If you got an interview, what school/major was it for. Sorry, I’m just really nervous, because I know people in my hs who applied to CAS and CHE got interviews, but I don’t think anyone from CALS has

@Kungpaoasian‌ found more here: <a href=“Class of 2018 Human Ecology Applicants Thread - #16 by collegebound752 - Cornell University - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cornell-university/1608592-class-of-2018-human-ecology-applicants-thread-p2.html</a>
justin558 claims he has gotten an “Interview + letter + personal call from alumni (HBHS major )”

so i guess Cornell gives out interviews even to che applicants?

I had an informational meeting with a Cornell Alumni from the Hotel College early November. She said it was based on availability of alumni in the region and she received no prior information about me other than my name, choice of decision, college of choice and major.

@BearBear10312‌ Did you go to the HumEC session at Cornell?

I visited the campus on the day of the Homecoming game (Saturday). Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find a Human Ecology session for that day and attended the Cornell overview session instead. I regret not being able to attend one of the Human Ecology sessions. @Kungpaoasian‌ You said you attended a Human Ecology session before, right? How was it?

Affirmative. It went well. I learned a lot about HumEc.

@wowihatecalculus‌ Scroll up to matrixsurgeon’s post in the second link. He explains that the interview is nothing more than the one offered by CAAAN.

@BearBear10312 @wowihatecalculus @kungpaoasian

It’s good to hear from some eager HumEc applicants like I was! If your ED, relax and enjoy the time u u have until decision day because at this point there is no point in worrying (I realize how hard it sounds, I went through it too haha) if your RD, get started early on all aspects of your applications, to all schools not Just Cornell. Although I didn’t wait too long, I would still have started my process earlier if I could do it again (which I don’t wanna haha). Just keep things into perspective and have a positive mindset about all your choices as it will end up making u feel better on decision day.

I applied to 12+ schools, pretty much all top 20 and I knew it was all a crap shoot. Ton of wait lists and rejections and only a few acceptances. But now in the handset, Coming to cornell was the best decision of my life. It really provides the best overall experience of any of the Ivies IMHO esp being in Hum Ec.

Also, HumEc is the most unique of anything I found in my college search. There is truly nothing like it anywhere and cornell is at the forefront of this “field”. Whatever major u are in HumEc, its great for a variety of careers

I had an informational meeting with a Cornell Alum from CHE (a.k.a HumEc), so that was really fortunate. Wishing us all good news in 3 weeks!

Anyone else nervous to death about the decisions to come?

@BearBear10312‌ The way I overcame that was I just told myself that I have worked hard to get to where I am, and if it was meant to be I’ll get into Cornell. Cornell will offer us great opportunities, but it isn’t going to change who we are as people. It’s simply a step in a long journey that we are embarking on, but there are many others that can be taken as well to get to the same place: our goals and aspirations.

We just hope (and pray) that Cornell is the port from which we begin this journey. No need to be nervous about it; I would say I am more excited than anything.

Not really @BearBear10312. We’ll all wind up going to good fit schools, even if not our first choice. And there is always grad school…

Well said @‌connect1234 =D>

I like what you wrote @Kungpaoasian. Wish I could get myself motivated to complete my other college apps.

@connect1234‌ That makes two of us :smiley:

I know this isn’t the right thread for a question like this, but I’ve ran into some trouble and I was wondering if any of you guys could help me out. I submitted my financial aid files on time last month. But my Cornell “To Do” financial list just updated and claimed that I’m currently missing all except for the CCS Profile. I promptly resubmitted them but the fact I submitted them so late is appalling to me. Does anyone know of consequences from such late submission or ways to explain?

Hey guys so after spending basically each night going on CC to see new posts about Cornell ED I decided to actually make an account, I’m incredibly nervous and can’t stop thinking about how close the date is, I applied to HumEc too and I just hope we all get in that’ll just be amazing
