can someone post what the mean question was?

^maiden you should look through the first 10 pages of the thread. the question is in there.

swoony why is it 30sqrt3, i got 60sqrt3. if you make a special right triangle side length 60 lines up with angle 30 degrees. that means the hypotenuse is 120 units and then side opposite the 60 degree angle would become 60sqrt3 not 30sqrt3

wait, the inch problem was 5’6? r u sure…wasn’t it like 5’4 or something

there might have been different names but it was like:

A is 3 inches taller than B
B is 4 inches shorter than C

if A is 5’5 how tall is C

**** I’m the dumbest person in the world, how the ■■ did I mess up on that

please someone post the rest of the answers, we have arround 34, 20 more and we have the whole math test to grade ourselves, I got 7000 on one 7 and 8 on other keep going please

it’s 30sqrt3. The side length opposite of 60° was 90. 90/sqrt3 = 40sqrt3

what was the answer to the 2nd to last problem on one of the sections where they gave you the x intercept of 3? was it -1?

Did anyone get the section on picking the number line that was 3 away from -1 ?

Yeah I got -1 for the x intercept problem

"30sqrt(3) problem:

The shape given is a triangle, and in the triangle, 2 shapes make it up. One is a quadrilateral, and the other is a smaller triangle.

In the quadrilateral, they give you 2 90 degree angles and a 120 degree angle, and you can figure out that the other angle is 60 degrees.

Now that you got that, the triangle comprised of the quadrilateral and the smaller triangle is a 30-60-90 triangle.

Now, look at the smaller triangle. You know that one side is 15(given), and is across the 30 degree angle that you just figured out. Use your trigonometry, and the Sin(15degrees)=15/hypotenuse = 30

Now, add that 30 with the 60(given) which makes the side opposite of the 60 degree angle of the triangle comprised of the quadrilateral and triangle a length of 90. Now that you got that, you can use trigonometry to find the opposite side of the large triangle(which is what the question was asking for)

You can either use Tan(30degrees) = x/90, or you can use Tan(60degrees) = 90/x,
both will give you the same answer(about 51.9) which is equal to 30sqrt(3)"

"Texas problem:

I and II are extremely simple to figure out, III is a bit tricky:

“Which of the following MUST be true?”
“AT LEAST 5 states would need to grow cotton”

If the statement did not include “at least”, it would be false.

Well, you can see that NC is less that 1 million, meaning that the largest amount others states can have is 999,998.(assuming NC is 999,999)

Total US acreage = 14.9m
Total Acreage of those 5 states = 10.75m

Leftovers = 4.15million

Now, 4 * 999,998 = 3.9992 million =/= 4.15, so AT LEAST 5 states would be needed to fill up the rest of the acreage.

“What if NC is like .6million dude?”
okay, substitute .59million for the other states
4.15/.59 = 7.033 states <---- that agrees with the statement "AT LEAST 5 states would be needed

the context is confusing, hope this clears it up."
