Official June 2012 SAT Math (US)

I thought the answer to the square grid in was 3200 since the original area of the small square was 200?

Original area was 400…

i cant really remember the answer choices, but it was 10, x , 28, x, 46

substitute with 10,11,28,29,46 = 24.8

10,12,28,29,46 = 25
10,21,28,45,46 = 30

i think it was asking for smallest mean, whcih would be 25

@bart

Well we knew that the ratio between the small square and large square was 4:1. There is a math rule that states if ratio of lengths is x:y then ratio of areas will be x^2:y^2.

So since the lengths ratio is 4:1, the areas ratio would be 16:1. 400*16=6400

What was the one with the reflection of the points across line l? I got 2x^2.

bart: it was 4x^2 because it was essentially 2x * 2x

4x^2 is the answer… I just plugged in a number for x

it was asking for the area of the square? I thought just the reflected rectangle.

@ARobins, i think that was an experimental, but it seems correct. 511 could have worked also.

@bart, Nope. It wanted the area of the entire thing.

@Lolol sorry forgot your username… I rmbr that question about mean (hopefully) did ask for which of the following can be the means, not the smallest mean. So I went with 2 of the means given (forgot which ones). Was the slope of the line - 3/5, when given another line with slope 1/2 and length of line segment was 2… rmbr something like that?

Yea, I remember that questions asking for all means. I believe the answer was II and III only.

For the means one I got II and III also

Which math was experimental? The texas cotton one, or the 50pi-96 one?

@cynosuree yes I got that :slight_smile:
and ugh I am mad, for texas I was going to choose I, II, III but time ran out so I just chose I and II :frowning: I am upset.

^^Neither of those were experimental.

Wait i’m really worried now. What’s the answer to the mean question?

I hope it was the 50pi-96 question. As far as I can tell this is the only question I got wrong (though I don’t remember the writing questions well enough to be sure).

Neither of those were experimental.

Can anyone answer my question in #96?

The one with the scatterplot? Do you remember any choices?

@swoony
II and III
@daishi55
neither

And the one about the p-n with the pool and gallons/hr, i think it was 1600.

Does anyone want to take the honor to make a consensus of all the right answers(at least the medium and hard)?
