**Official June 2013 SAT II Math 2 Thread**

hey guys, the test is tomorrow, comment with concerns/practice questions/tips/anything else! :)

Other than the trig stuff, what other formulas should we know?

I just took Barron’s and got a 750. It seems the tests fluctuate in difficulty.

Something that comes to mind that I don’t think is on the formula sheet: Volume of a cylinder. Besides that and trig stuff, I think it’s pretty much on the formula sheet.

how would you attack piecewise functions? i’ve had trouble with them… heres an example:

what is the range of the function defined by x^1/3, x>2; 2x-1, x is greater than or equal to 2?

Ahhhh! I have been practicing with barrons for the past week and received 630,680, 650, and 640 on the last one. So today, the day before the test, I decided to see just how much harder barrons was and took a CB test from one of their study guides,

BUT ONLY GOT A 730!!! omg, im really sad, cuz I heard anything 650+ on barrons was good enough for an 800. Is their anything I can do with the 4-5 hrs of my day left to still get an 800 . I think time is a big issue for me, I ended up omitting 4 towards the end because of time, and missed 7( including 3 carless errors),

and btw, on of the questions was what is the period of 3tan(3(pie)X- 4).
idk but in all my trig knowledge, the period has always been 2pie/B, in which case here is 3pie, so I picked 2/3 as the period, but the answer was 1/3…someone PLEASE explain and help me!!! what should I do

btw, I also have to study for ush

Well, 2pi/b only works for sin and cos functions bec their regular periods are 2pi, but with a tan function, it has a period of pi so you actually use pi/b. Look at the graph of a tan function and u will see that it does not work for odd multiples of pi/2.

I did the practice test in the official book and got a low 800 (45/50 raw). Do you think I have a good chance for a 750+ tomorrow? I didn’t practice at all before doing it lol, I just decided that i was taking math 2 yesterday instead of chem

I’m taking math II tomorrow! I’m projecting anywhere from a 750-800 for me. Hopeful all goes well!

First post, yay!

Taking this tomorrow. Pretty nervous, I bombed the Math 1 last year. I just hope I can get close to my Bio score of 770 :frowning: i didnt prep too much because i just realized i was taking this. Anything ciritical i should know? Really wishing i had time to study…:frowning: I wish you all luck! Goodnight!

Was supposed to take it today, but something when wrong with my documents. :frowning: So, I’m moving my test date to October. Probably going to take it with Physics.

Good luck everyone! Got an 800 on the CB practice test. I feel ready. Bring it on!

hey guys, i copied all my answers for today’s math ii. if anyone else did this, can we compare answers? obviously, idk which are right

edit: i will post later since some people are still taking it

^ not cool, bro.

On another note, what do you guys expect for a curve? I answered 42/50 and don’t expect to get many/any of the ones I answered wrong. I felt pretty confident in those, but had to skip some of the more foreign concepts due to time.

What was the answer to the question asking what forms when two spheres intersect?

I put circle

they weren’t equal right? so its a circle or a point.

What did you guys put for that one?
I thought the test overall was pretty hard.

What else do you guys remember

What’d you guys put for the one with the data set of 99 and another one is added to it?

I omitted the circle one cuz I literally had no idea. But I thought it was way too easy like deceivingly so.

It was range.
