I got a 680 and that’s from studying off of Barron’s 7th edition. Can you guys please tell me what books worked out for you? If there are any 800s out there, please suggest a book or just say the one that you were using. So far I’m thinking about getting Chung’s and McGraw Hill’s and retaking. I appreciate all of your help to those who respond.

@augustina37 I used Barron’s and I’ve heard very good things about Chung’s.

800s on this and World History! So happy… :)

800 right here BABYYY B-)

And I used Barrons

And I didn’t study

^wow that came off as pretentious.

Lol it’s fine this is the internet

Ah, well, 730, but 800 on Physics!

I was usually scoring around 680-700 on Barrons. I think 730 is sort of good for someone who just took Algebra 2/Trig, so after Precalc I think I should be set for an 800.

@Peezus I got a 790 too, so I understand XD

Also, all of these people saying that they’re going to retake a 790 need to go away

Wow, I was actually happy about my 760 until I got on here. Whatever though.

Quick question, for the most part (in my understanding) the top colleges don’t care about your score as long as they’re 750+, but since this test has such a high curve, how bad/good is the score on an average applicant to HYPSM?
(please don’t give me a story about how you know of someone who had a 600 ad got in, that’s not average). I want to say my score is good, but I’m not sure if I’m being realistic.

I got a 740 freshman year. Retook it June of sophomore year and got an 800!!

^You’re fine with your 760. However, I am saying this as someone who would retake a 790 in math ii.

all scores 750+ will be viewed equally so I wouldn’t retake unless you got below 750.

@Zeppelin7 at a college fair I asked a Stanford rep that very question. He said that the adcoms look for reasons to admit applicants, not reasons to reject them. Therefore, the higher the score the better, but a 750 won’t hurt you.

@sonofgod908 What book did you use? I also got 740 and I’m gonna be a junior next year and want to raise my score. QUESTION: Would any of you retake a 740???

P.S. LOL I was also very excited about my score until I got on this thread. I started “studying” a week before and I just finished Trig this year.

@poisonivy20 if you haven’t taken any other subject tests you should first try another test before revisiting math. Nevertheless 740 is a great score!

Thanks guys

@PoisonIvy20 Yup, same, didn’t get my Barron’s book till like 5 days before the exam

How helpful for college is an 800 SAT math…

@DaneBrick I also took Chemistry and World History. Chem is my highest score and I bombed WH. I Hate WH with a fiery passion in my heart. But I think I have to retake it or colleges will see that I bombed the test and didnt try to take it over.

Can you remove a score from your report or will colleges see everything regardless?
