Official June ACT Score Thread (now available)

None of the three people who I pulled up scores for have ever taken the ACT previously.

So, the glitched worked for me this very morning for all three of them and they all three had the writing.

Oh, and someone else thought you only had to have really good scores… nope… one of my three had really low scores :frowning: and it still worked.

Now, does anyone have a glitch for the AP exams???

Hah, I got an 8 on essay on top of a 35 composite. I definitely think I generalized too much, but colleges won’t care, will they?

justamomof2, I’m pretty sure most AP tests are graded by now, but CB is a little more strict on posting tests the day they’re scheduled to be posted on. So, you’ll probably have to wait until July 8.

Tips on how to improve from 33 to a 34
I got 31 math 32 reading 33 writing and 36 science

Did anyone do better the second time around without actually studying
Idk maybe all the pressure is off from the first time

Comp: 31
Reading-28
English-30
Math-30
SCIENCE-34!!!

I went from a 27 in science in April to a 34 by the way- no idea how

Just letting you guys know that if you haven’t received your writing scores yet, they’ll most likely be up tomorrow

First actual test after many hours of studying.
C: 27
E: 28
M: 28
R: 22
S: 27
W: 9/12 Combined 27
Despite studying for well over a hundred hours with the Real Act book, the PR book, Barron’s ACT 36, and Barron’s Pass Key to the ACT I still didn’t get near my goal of a 34, but I improved from the high 10s in my first practice exams to a high 20.

Composite: 34
Math: 31
Science: 31
English: 36
Science: 36
Writing:12

I was pleased overall. I’m still a sophomore so I have plenty of time to bring it up to a 35 or 36. I was really happy with the essay portion.

*Reading:36

how good is a 9 on the essay? its 95th percentile, but does that really mean anything?

I got a 10 on the essay and I doesn’t really mean much. The prompts are ridiculous

All these people who say they have got 34-36 without studying, how did you know what the format is? You can not read instructions while taking the test as there is not enough time. You have to know what they test on each section except math as in math you know you have to solve the problem.

^^ Take things people say on here with a grain of salt. Some of these stories about automatic 35’s and 36’s are ridiculous

It would be very difficult to get a 35-36 without knowing the test structure and directions beforehand, but a 35-36 without studying actual material on the test would not seem that surprising. Almost all of it is covered in advanced high school classes, anyway.

@levlevlev11 true. However, one of my friends at school literally did not study for the ACT and got a 36 (35.5) the first time he took it. He was on fb playing videogames the night before and I even saw him online. When I asked him about it, he said he looked over the format on Friday night to know the time limits and the types of questions that are asked. But, this kid is literally a genius… so not everyone can do this obviously.

@rokr32 yeah I know that there are people out there that can do it, I’m just saying that some of the stuff here on CC is sometimes hard to believe. I’m not trying to discredit anyone, though. If you got a high score with little or no practice, then I congratulate you! I wish I could get a high score without trying :p

I wish i could get a high score studying lol September ACT studying starts Monday. Hopefully my 25 can go to a 30 or 30+ in two and a half months.

bella1234 - A girl at my school got 36 without studying. She’s practically a genius though, definitely would bet on her getting into MIT.

The ACT is basically the same format as the PLAN test, which we took in 10th grade. The format is also very similar to all of the standardized testing we have done every year since 1st grade in my state (except for the time limit). For people who are quite gifted, especially at testing, I don’t think it’s really that out of the ordinary to get a 34+ without practice. The directions only take maybe 30 seconds to read anyways. Some people are just really fast!

the thing about these standardized tests is that while they require general intellect, one must know the format to do well (of course with exception). After taking two practice tests to get to know the format, I got a 35 (35,36,33,36)
