Official June SAT Reasoning Scores Thread

My first SAT. No studying.

Critical Reading: 650 (66 on PSAT)
Writing: 700 (64 on PSAT)
Math: 620 (same on PSAT)
Essay: 10
Total: 1970 (up from 192 on PSAT)

How much can I expect to improve with a lot of studying on the October one?

Reading- 760 (+50)
Math- 730 (+70)
CR- 710 (+100!)

2200 total, with a 220 POINT INCREASE!

I can't believe it!

Guess
Math = 680-780
WR = 650-750
CR = 680-730

Result
Math=710
WR=660
CR=690

It was decent... considering it was my first time

my post previously wasnt that informative since it was very early so with march scores in parenthesis....

CR- 740 (630) +110
Math- 790 (740) +50
Writing- 740 w/ 12 essay (740 w/ 11 essay) +0

June SAT- 2270
March SAT- 2110

i am very very happy that i will never have to take a college board test in my life again

First SAT. Only did blue book and one practice test from it.

Critical Reading- 540
Math- 570
Writing- 510
Total- 1620

I want to get 600 in CR and Math each next time hopefully.

My first time...I think I did ok.

Critical Reading- 680
Math-710
Writing- 740

Composite-2130

Hopefully I can get rid of my nerves the next time I take it. Are colleges like Caltech and MIT going to see these scores, assuming I get in the 2300s next time and discount my higher score? Or will they realize that I was just nervous?

My first time. I did really terrible. = [

Critical Reading: 590
Math: 660
Writing: 620
Essay: 8

Composite: 1870

Well considering I only slept for an hour and was pretty much out of it during the test, I should do better on the next one. Definitely retaking it.
Trying to aim for 2000 or better a possibility?

First time taking test:

CR: 570
M: 660
W: 680 (MC-67, essay-9)

Total: 1910

CR-540
Math-640
Writing-550
Essay-7
Total- 1730

Ok i guess considering i'm a freshman and didn't study one bit for it.

(March SAT)
CR: 540 (440) +100
M: 700 (720) -20
W: 510 (440) +70

Total: 1750 (1600) +150

Well, I'm actually happy. I didn't do any studying, but still increased my score for reading and writing. I pretty much just forced myself to pay attention. Even though my math dropped, it wasn't by that much, so it seems I am consistent in that area. I'm sure that if I do some studying I could get into the 2000's. However, I'm taking the subject tests in October, so no reasoning for me.

Anyways, do you think that those scores are good for schools such as Purdue, University of Illinois, University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute? I know the scores aren't good for the last two schools, but I still feel confident.

Also, I'm going to take the physics and math IIC. I should be able to pull off 800s with a little bit of studying.

really confuse with the sat results

My D got 2340 with 12 on Essay
CR: 800
M: 800
W : 740

Does that mean she will be a candidate for Presidential Scholars?

So, how much do colleges look at the writing part (not just the essay, but the MC as well)? Is it prioritized as much as CR and math? I'd enjoy it if it were so.

First time scores:
M - 740 (I can do better; careless mistakes)
CR - 570 (This is embarrassing)
W - 590 (teacher's don't teach grammar and I must learn rules)
Looks like I've got more work to do.

Math: 590
Critical Reading: 640 (I thought I got 100 points higher?!)
Writing: 680 (11 essay)
Total: 1910

College Board is the bane of my existence. ACT in September here I come!

Practice
My scores:
CR 400
Math 600
Writing 390

W.e, I never studied for this.

Kaznack : depends on the colleges; MIT and Caltech specifically say that they don't look at writing score. HYP do look at these but may not provide same weightage as that of other two. Specially at HYP CR gets much more weightage than even Math.

Would an 800 in writing be very useful if I already know I want to pursue writing in college? My top choices are Amherst, Williams, and Middlebury. I go for the small, LA colleges.

It will be helpful but I think your college essay will weigh more in that regards. But having an 800 on SAT1 Writing cannot hurt you. Have you take SATII literatue an 800 on that will add to your cause.

First time 2140. My mom insists it's a great score and I don't need to retake it, but this forum is making me really second-guess that.

760 CR
660 M (I suck at math... I was hoping for a 700 but after walking out of the test center I was like, "Well, screw that! I'll take a 650!" Haha)
720 W, 8 essay

Writing: what the heck? I love English and am quite picky in regards to grammar. After getting an 80 on the PSAT writing, that's disappointing. At least the colleges I'm looking at don't give it nearly as much weight as CR and math.

You know, before I got onto CC a 2100 would've made me ecstatic. But my heart kind of fell into my shoes when I saw these scores. Meh. I don't know if it's worth retaking.

Me too! I'm in a very weird place right now with my 2140.

I think I can guarantee what they say about long essays=good grade. Mine had no content or structure, but filled up the full two pages.

Eh, my essay filled the full two pages and I only scored an 8. I was really happy with that essay, too.
