^I hate math too. Not so much doing math, but rather math gods. I've been scoring in the mid 700s in math on practice tests and QAS's since like JANUARY, and I got a dam 690 on the June SAT.

At least I got 80MC/12E on Writing :). Thanks to superscoring I can just wing the October Writing and focus on the other two.

meh you smarties suck. i feel like crap now..haha just kidding. im glad wth my score and a 210 point improvement this time.
One thing though...I only received an 8 on my essay...with 2 full pages and beautiful handwriting (lol) and 5 paragraphz....wut the fuc. o well, its not my fault the readers cant appreciate.

**Should i take the ACT? since i dont want to retake the SAT again..EVER lol. But i do realize that a 2100 flat and a 1420 CR+M, although good, are not really strong for ivys and other top universities. So what do you guys think?
Thanks bunch.

I love this place. No where else would I feel insecure about my 2100
haha
gotta love it.

and now i am having the same thoughts as han9427520. I really don't want to take it again....i was just wondering if it is possible to get into brown....or rice with a 2100. Because it isnt really even the middle score.

On my first SAT I got a 70 on writing multiple choice and an 8 on the essay, making my score a 690.

On this SAT I got a 70 on writing multiple choice and an 8 on the essay, making my score a 680.

Anyone know why that would be?

I'm fairly happy with my 2200, but I would like to get my writing and math up, so I want to take it again. (My parents don't want me to, though.)

720 CR (Up 70 points)
750 M ( Up 30 points)
740 W / 8 Essay ( Up 70 points)

Overall, a 170 point increase and a lot better than I expected. It kinda sucks cause I was dead set on taking the ACT, but now I'm not motivated anymore. Now I gotta decide if I want to take the ACT (or subject tests) and try my luck at places like Rice and Duke, or if I should just forget it and apply to the places I had in mind beforehand.

I know this is a wonderful score, blah blah blah, but would it be worth it to take it again to try and improve writing? Even if my math and critical reading scores drop a bit? If I get a lower composite score next time, but my writing goes up, would that be worth it??

Note: This was only my first time and I got 235 on my psat, so I don't think it was a fluke. sry if I sound really arogant, I don't mean to be, this is an honest question.

Remember that colleges take your highest scores so they'll take your 800 CR and 790 Math. If you take it again and your Writing goes up that'd be really good on an admissions standpoint. Even if you could get the 790 Math to an 800 that'd be well worth it. If you could bring up your essay to a 10-12 that could help too. About the composite score, i don't know if it would be good to have it drop.

June
800 CR
800 M
740 W
69 MC (I thought I had done awesome/better than March)
12 Essay(I thought I had done awful/worse than March)

March
700 CR
770 M
740 W
72 MC (I think; maybe 73 maybe 71)
11 (I should've gotten a 12; it had been much much better than my June essay)

I'm glad my score went up, but I was surprised at my writing score. I had been so sure I had bombed the essay and gotten like close to perfect on MC, but instead I did the exact oposite and my score stayed the same. But for not reprepping or anything, I'm quite proud at my improvement.

Good Job to all, and I hope my lack of preparation for retaking gives hope to others who plan to retake.
