Official June SATII Chemistry Thread

whats a good score on the test for top schools?

@jguskadoo ill say around a 760 is a good score, if you get lower you should consider retaking again.

Honestly, nothing above 700 is going to break you. I’d say definitely retake only if you made below 700.

@squashaddict
That was an extremely unfortunate typo. Mg3N2 is correct. Sorry about that! :P

Hey does anyone remember what the last question was and the answer. IT was the only question i didn’t have time to fully read and answer so i guessed.

Just saying, the one with the dangerous lab procedure. Putting water into acid one is actually safe. I remember seeing this question on like 5 practice tests. The answer was diluting an acid with water slowly. That’s safe because if you dilute it quickly, it would splash. I got the broken glass answer choice (or something like that)

@daniel

Fire Polishing glass isn’t actually dangerous though. If anything, it’ll round the edges of the glass and make it even safer.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure that one was adding water to acid.

It’s definitely adding water to acid… violent splashing may occur…etc.

does anyone remember the questions, possible answers, and the actual answers to the series of 4 problems on the first page which asked for which solutions formed a complex ion, which caused a gas to evolve, etc…? also, they gave molar concentrations for each of the solutions but i didnt find that I had to use any of the concentrations in order to answer the questions…

My teacher said that it was adding water to acid a million times in class so i went with that.

I’m wondering about the ones jdtennis4 asked about as well.

Complex ion was the ammonia one. None of the others made sense. The gas one was the carbonate and the hydrochloric acid. The Redox equation was the zinc thing. I can’t remember te last one.

Thanks! I know I got the redox one, but I can’t remember my other answers. x)

I think that’s what I put though, just not positive.

Does anyone know (based on what YOU think the curve will be) what this could equate to:

3 omitted
6-7 wrong

That’ll probably be around 750.

It will most likely be around 760. But who cares, wait for your damn scores because you could have missed a whole bunch more. STOP stressing yourself and just forget about it for a while. You have a whole 20 days to focus on relaxing. This goes towards all of you. What is the point of discussing answers if you can’t change it?

The point of discussing answers is to learn from possible wrong answers and not making the same mistakes on the next test…
At least for me…

Believe me, that is not the case for the majority here. I just hope they get the point I am trying to make, just relax.

@darkaeroga: I agree.

We should all just take it easy. Summer is near…some of us have finals…all you nerds need to go outside a bit.
