Official LMU 2011-2012 Transfers Thread

WOW… only 25% is accepted?!? I am getting more and more discouraged! Still hopeful though. Also, the fact that the deposit is due by may 15 scares me because on the website it says “Transfer applicants applying by this date will receive a decision no later than June 1, and in most cases will hear well before this.” Things do not look good for me…If they notify applicants after may 15, they must save space for them otherwise that wouldn’t be fair right?

on LMU’s facebook page, it was said that transfer students must pay their deposits two weeks after the date they were accepted into the university.

So many acceptances!

I haven’t even received my mypaw login info.
Might have to call them :/

I got in!!

I got the letter today and it’s weird because it’s dated May 3rd and I just got my MyPaw account from them last Friday so they literally mailed my decision four days after finally giving me my account info. It seems like they’re not really following any sort of timeline or structure with sending the decisions out but they want a deposit by May 15th so everyone who hasn’t heard yet will definitely be hearing within the next week!

Congrats InBetween! that is so awesome. however, i don’t think that everyone will find out within this week but that would be nice. i’m still waiting to hear back but i think i may be waiting a little bit longer than everyone else. I emailed them asking about the time frame in which i would maybe find out and i got an email saying they “received it” and i should get a response within “48 hours” but its been 3 days and nothing… i understand they are getting a bunch of emails so thats probably why its taking a while but i just hope they dont forget and never respond. ahh im going crazy, i just want to know!

I met with an admissions counselor today and he didnt really know anything about my application but he said that if my application has said currently under review for a while then I should prob expect to hear in two weeks or so. So I guess they are just lacking on the decisions

InBetween780, congrats!! : D

Has anyone noticed a change in layout to the MyLMU page? I just logged on and the layout was completely different. Then once I hit refresh it switched back to its regular layout. Hmm…

Inbetween - Congrats!

For those that emailed Admissions, did they indicate anything regarding their decision in the reply? Did they tell you in their response that you were admitted and you should get the letter soon, or something like that?
Thanks in advance!

Hello! I emailed the admissions office last thursday asking about my admissions decision. They’re really slow on responding…cause i didnt hear back until yesterday. They didn’t tell me whether or not I was admitted in the email but that I should be hearing back in the next few weeks (by mail…?). I did, however, receive an email regarding an update on my financial aid. It basically said “…However, you will not be awarded with Financial Aid until your Admission status is confirmed.”

I’m kind of on pins and needles… I applied by the March deadline, and got a confirmation email a week from the day. I got access to my MyPaw account during the second week in April, but have yet to hear anything. I’m out of school next Thursday, hopefully I’ll hear (good) news by then.

And in regards to that MyAid account mass email that went out on Friday the 29th, I sent them an email for clarification. I think their system just sent that out to a bunch of people. I received this email in error, too, and it got my hopes up.

just got my acceptance in the mail … but i won’t be attending … got into USC this past Tuesday and will be a Trojan  … good luck to you all, i’ll definitely let them know ASAP so one of you can have my spot

Hey all, I was recently accepted into LMU as a sophomore transfer, so I’m pretty excited :)

A few of you are mentioning having issues with the MyAID page. You won’t be able to view it until about a week after you receive your admission, and they’re slow to update so you might have to keep checking back for a few days before you are actually able to view your award (it’ll pop up as a tab on MyAID).

I’m trying to decide between LMU and UCR (mostly because UCR is looking WAY less expensive for me, and I’m not sure if the debt for LMU is worth it!)

For California residents who have received a FinAid award, does anyone know why the Cal Grant wasn’t factored in? I’m paying an extra 10k without it  I emailed someone at the FinAid office, but I’ll go ahead and call if I don’t receive a message soon).

Good luck to all of you!

I just called the admissions office.

Talk about not being helpful. They basically told me what I already knew: I’ll get an admissions decision by June 1.

Once I asked them about not having my MyPaw information, they said they have processed by account or something (the guy was somewhat inaudible) and that I should still wait for an email from them. Which is ridiculous, if decisions should be up by June 1 and we are in the 2nd week of May :/

@thisisu I know what you mean, the admissions office can be uber frustrating. I guess they’re really overloaded with work or something. It stinks, but your best bet is to just wait for them to process your information  I’m sure you’ll still get enough time to consider your acceptance if you’re admitted, though, even if it’s after May 15th.

Good luck :)

Thisisu Use this that I posted before. If your account has been created you should be let in

"All of you who havent received your mypaw login info lmu told me they sent mine to me a month ago and somehow i didnt get mine. so check your spam mail filters and you can also reset your password here and you can get into your account (thats what the admissions office told me to do) https://apps.lmu.edu/setmypassword/</a> "

Hi guys! I did not apply to LMU this semester, but I’m looking forward in applying next year in the fall. I was wondering if LMU looks at the overall GPA which includes NON TRANSFERABLE classes or your TRANSFERABLE GPA which excludes the NON TRANSFERABLE CLASSES?
THANKS! =]

My application was denied.
:/

jaysea, I am so sorry! how did you find out? through a letter in the mail or on mypaw? I really wish you all the best!

doctordre, I found out through MyPAW. Thanks for the well wishes! Good luck!

I got admitted to the Screenwriting program and found out through MyPaw.
