Learn the grammar rules. The sat doesn’t require that you know the rules, but it make it a lot easier if you can name ruleS and parts of speech.

Wow, I’m so happy.

SAT: 2370
CR: 800
M: 770
W: 800 (80 and 10)

The venn diagram screwed me over. I got that question wrong and the one after that because I spent so much time on the Venn diagram.

Oh well, it’s all good because 800 math on December test, 2400 Superscore!!!

2090: 670 CR, 710 M, 710 W (68 and 10)

Congrats to the people who got a 2400 or a 2400 super score!

Damnit, my scores aren’t even good enough to have a superstore. So many ambiguous questions worked against me.

@Hawkace

I don’t think an SAT score has any relation to owning a super store, but I might be wrong. :P

Don’t give up hope man. Most of the kids with high scores started with low scores. Just keep working hard and taking tests. Good luck!

@Hawkace: I think you would need at least a college degree and some capital before you get yourself a “superstore” :)

On a more serious note though, you shouldn’t worry about your low score. When I took the test as a sophomore, I studied a bit and came out of the test feeling like a 2300. I got a 2030. I studied up, took it seriously and this time I actually managed a decent score (2290). But I wouldn’t hide under an excuse like “ambiguous questions.” Do practice tests, study hard, and you’ll improve.

790m 780w 670cr
I did 30 points worse than last time(2270, 670cr)
Should I retake for harvard? I can’t believe my cr didn’t go up at all…
And will harvard princeton or duke know how many times I take the sat?

2090 first sitting. I feel inferior to all of you, haha. Definitely going to retake in June. Hopefully my April ACT sitting will go by more smoothly.

CR: 610
M: 770
W: 690 - 10 essay

First time taking it and that’s 100-200 points lower than my average on mocks. Should I shoot for taking it again in May even though I have APs and regular school to focus on? I don’t want to be overwhelmed because maintaining good grades is my main focus right now. I’m aiming for 2200+. Going to take it again in October. Is taking the test 3 times looked down upon?

Also, any tips on where to get started? I guess CR is my worst section (that Bijah passage really freaked me out). Writing is usually my best score though (730-750) so I don’t know what happened there and math surprised me.

I just want to get a solid 2200 and be done with this!

CR: 750
M: 790
W: 780[78+9]

2320 from 2110 my first time. I only used the collegeboard SAT book this time. I struggled with the passage about people buying land, and I omitted 2 of those questions.

For the kids that can’t score a 2400 without even looking at the test.
CR: 610
M: 600
W: 620
T: 1830

Definitely retaking. Since I scored basically the same on all sections what should I focus most on? Should I study all three of them evenly?

does anyone know how to get a re-grade?

@RunningForLife You could go for a Hand Score Verification. I would recommend that you see the questions you got wrong before tossing around $50 for a re-check since your score might not change or even decrease.

Does anyone know how to get the questions that were on the SAT? I know that you can do it, but don’t know how.

CR: 680
M: 770
W: 720
T: 2170
I find it somewhat amusing that people are beating each other up when they got 2200 when i was extremely happy that I was able to get past a 2100. I feel good that I can be at least considered among ivies! First sitting by the way but am going to retake in June to see if I can do any better. you guys are great, and should be super proud of yourselves!

2nd time taking, 2190 this sitting, 2220 superscore.
SAT: 2190
CR: 680 T_T
M: 710
W: 800 (77+10 i think)

i realize that my M and CR are my lowest (and they count the most right? uggh) but do you guys think my 800 in writing counts for SOMETHING at some second tier schools that I’m looking at (northwestern, WUSTL, vandy, usc etc.)? Thanks in advance for the input.

Congrats to everyone no matter what score.
I just want to say this: For all of you who got around 2000-2200, you can all still get a 2400. The last 300 points take the most effort to get, but it is completely possible so don’t give up if 2400 is your goal. I took in January and got a 2120 and then took it again in March and got a 2400. A 2400 is definitely worth the effort.
I’m not extraordinarily smart or anything. I’m completely ordinary, but I got 2400. Ergo, you all can too. Just keep practicing and taking practice tests.

CR:680
W:750

Essay:9
SAT: 2230

I hate everything except my math score but the math was stupid easy so I’m not happy about that either. How did I do so poorly. 1st time taking the test but still…

CR: 680
M: 750
W: 790 (78 MC, 10 essay)
SAT: 2220

Although I wanted a 2300+, I’m happy about my scores (except for that reading one). This is only my first sitting so I’m definitely retaking in June. But I’m really surprised about my writing score because that was my worst section and the highest I’ve ever gotten is a 720.

Congrats to everyone on their scores!

Second time taking: 2000.

690 - Math
670 - Writing
640 - Critical Reading

180 point increase from first time taking in December (1820). I’m aiming for 2100.
