@sanieldalib @Tennistiger Get Direct Hits 1 and 2 for vocab. For the passage-based stuff, skim it quickly and first look at questions that ask for line numbers.

Did really badly on my first SAT, so I’m taking it again in March. For some reason, I’m finding it impossible to remain motivated to study… Even though I really need the better score.
@Tennistiger: Totally in the same boat as you.
2330 the first time (January), with a 730 in math. Bought Chung’s book but staying motivated to study now is so much harder than it was the first time.
@stvika mate u really don’t need to retake… do more ECs or something
@stvika ^^^ a 2330 is good enough. You really do not need to retake it, as mentioned above.
@tennistiger and @acethesat111 my parents want me to and i know i’ll do better so i’m fine with it lol
two more weeks guys
Im prepping w/ the PR SAT Elite 2400, definitely the best prep book I’ve used. After completing a section within the book (sentence completion, geometry, grammar, etc) I take the short ‘quizzes’ on the SAT website. Haven’t got a problem wrong on those yet, way easier in comparison to the book’s problem set, even the questions considered ‘hard.’ Best of luck to everyone!
@Pepenn123 do you know where the pdf version of that book is? Can you help me to access it?
@Pepenn123 can you takes pictures of the drills and email it to me- pm for email address
Any good ways to study for vocab? I finished memorizing both Direct Hits and the Insider’s Guide to Vocabulary and I was wondering if that was enough. I am aiming to not get any wrong on the sentence completion.
Thanks
@southernbelle16 I have an SAT prep course and the SAT blue book. Nothing seems to stick! Also, the vocabulary I learn before the test is usually nowhere to be found when I’m taking the actual test.
Gonna try direct hits out. Any tips on how to improve critical reading to a 600+ ? Im currently at a 520, but ive had A’s in english my whole life. Feeling really dumb
I’m so scared @-)
One more week…
1week
@Kmackyy opposite problem for me lol. I struggle with getting As in english like right now I have a B, but on the October SAT I had a 730 in CR and now I’m usually 750+ on practice tests. The only advice I really have is to read the questions first and mark up the passage. Like if a question refers to lines 65-67, put brackets around those lines. And answer question WHILE you read the passage. Don’t read the whole passage and then answer the questions. Idk if this will help, but this works for me.
@stvika
It’s not a worry about lower scores. Taking the SAT again after 2330 will show colleges that you can be obsessed, and you don’t have your priorities straight. Even if you get a 2400 this time, it can actually damage your chances at schools that see every one of your scores.
Good luck everyone! I’m available (periodically) to grade SAT essays, if you want to make a post and tag me or send me a PM. I can also help with specific questions on your practice tests, as are the rest of the CC community.
heyyy
hey guys! any tips on how to prepare for the math section? I keep scoring well under a 600
